Right, but the problem is you guys are still stuck with the whole 'us vs them' mentality when it comes to Muslims, especially Pakistanis. Do you know how many Hindustanis view Pakistan as an extension of the Muslim Empires of Hindustan? They aren't wrong in saying it is, but if you really want to move forward, forget about it and stop getting so hostile over it. The milk has been spilt.

Also, don't try and tell us what our history is or who to be proud of. We can do that for ourselves very well thank you.

No Indians are not stuck in history. India has excellent/good relations with countries of Europe, Mesopotamia and Arabia who all had ruled India. Its only Pakistan with whom we do not have good relations. It more to do with politics than religion.

Smriti Irani warns Pakistan, says India a tolerant nation but confident enough to have a surgical strike

In a veiled warning to Pakistan, Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani proclaimed on Saturday that India is a tolerant nation but also confident enough to have a surgical strike.

In an interactive session with students at a Mumbai college, Irani was asked whether India and Pakistan would ever be good neighbours.

To this, she quipped, "You can change your friends, but you can never change your neighbours, Can you."

"We as a country are a tolerant nation, cognizant of the fact that we live in a delicate environment, and while these are issues of national of national and international importance where you do not want me to do chest-thumping, as a Minister of Information and Broadcasting, we are, as a country, today confident enough to have a surgical strike and let the world speak about our powers," Irani continued.

The question, as well as Irani's response to it, comes in the backdrop of the terror attack on Sunjwan army camp in Jammu and Kashmir, earlier in the day.

"We have forever embraced peace and have never been aggressors but anybody who has tried to breach our boundaries has been met with the might of India," Irani added.

On September 29 2016, eleven days after the Uri attack, the Indian army had conducted surgical strikes against suspected terrorists in Pakistani-administered Kashmir.

Hindustan as a nation only does that because it needs to, you simply cannot ignore Europe and the Middle East if you wish to prosper as a nation.

Hindustanis are a different story. You guys have gotten over the Europeans, but not the Muslims. One only needs to go on the internet to discover this.

But the methods adopted by Hindus and Parsis were very different. Parsis left their motherland to survive while Hindus committed suicides to protect their honor from the invading Islamic armies.

Parsis did not leave Persia to survive. Get your historical perspective reoriented.

The Persians who stayed behind and converted, did it to survive. The easy route. Much as the later Hindus in our part of the world.

Parsis left their ancestral land so that their ancestral faith, the world's oldest, and the eternal fire, the holy Atash, could survive.

And survive it did. Thanks to India.

And our sacrifice.

Cheers, Doc

If a so called Super Power country couldn't suppress an un-armed nation (Indain Occupied Kashmir) in 60 years , How will they dare to do surgical strikes in a nuclear power country?

Parsis left because they were scared.

At least the ones who stayed in Iran had the stomach to stand up for themselves.

The ones who came in.the first waves were old men, priests, women, children.

Not men.

Do not teach me the history of my people.

Better you learn how your ancestors became Muslim?

Cheers, Doc

Which "India" precisely you are referreing to? Dozens of indpendent countries/states who were sworn enemies and at each other's throat?

Today's "India" is newborn country since 1947 who borrowed her name from "British India". The "India" you are referring to exists only in Hindutava imagination.

Cheers.

I'm referring to the Indian people. You guys included.

The Indian ethos of sanctuary and tolerance and inclusiveness.

It's an ethos which was a common cultural thread across the land. Regardless of kingdoms and language and sub cultures and ethnicity.

Historically, that was always India's strategic depth. It's apex weapon.

It's what's always helped India always eventually absorb and onternalize every external attack. And make it its own. As well as contain and mould it.

Islam on the subcontinent is the biggest example of that.

Cheers, Doc

Ok, so you are basically talking about people from Indus Valley (some of those can be found in Northern India as well).

I'll not start a debate about Ganges vs. Indus Valley here... a lot has already been said about this on these forums, summary of which is that people from Ganges and Indus Valley have very less in common.

The subcontinent is a mass of rivers and fertile valleys.

There is ZERO black and white differentiation of one from other till the Indus.

The Indus to the Hindu Kush and the Pars region was always the cleavage zone.

The melting pot of two ancient civilizations.

East and West of it were pretty clear and distinct.

For millennia.

By blood. And spirituality.

Cheers, Doc

P.S. the Indus Valley line is a new attempt by some Pakistanis to spin a non Hindu identity tapestry.

Does not wash.

Pakistanis and Pal Army must be scared of Smriti ji's open threat.
Modi ne tu sab indians ko bewakoof bana rakha hai, India has become a nation of fools. Modi ki jai ho...
