New reports are coming in, claiming that October 24 will mark the release of Google’s tablet device, the HTC Nexus 9.
United Kingdom will start offering the Nexus tablet on the specified date, as confirmed by developer Paul O’Brien, who took the good news to the social network Twitter. A previous tweet specified that an earlier date, October 16 to be more precise, will mark the device’s unveiling. The date will not only celebrate the launch of the Nexus 9 tablet manufactured by HTC, but also of the operating system that will also be unveiled, Android L. The operating system’s first host will be none other than the Nexus 9.
It is believed that the new Android L or Android 5.0 will start rolling out to devices just as soon as the Nexus 9 tablet goes online the Google Play Store for sale. The new Android OS will come as Google’s response for Apple, which already upgraded its operating system to iOS8.
The other product coming out at the October 16 event, the Nexus 9 tablet made by HTC, will also represent Google’s answer to Apple’s unreleased at the moment tablet devices, the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. Furthermore, it seems like Google has made it its goal to counter every move Apple makes. After the response to Apple’s new OS and tablets with products of its own, Google plans on releasing the Nexus 6 flagship smartphone in two variants, similar to how Apple released a 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The two Nexus 6 devices will be manufactured in collaboration with Motorola, and will feature a 5.2 inch display, and a 5.9 inch display, respectively, both coming on the same date, which is November 1.
Apple already hit it big time with its two iPhone 6 variants on the market, with new tablet devices on the way, so it’s no wonder that Google is going all in, attacking all fronts, to stop Apple from gaining complete market dominance.
Market watchers and analysts expected a fierce competition coming from Google among others. Although Apple has been credited with having a bright future in the market, no one expected for the tech giant to have an easy ride. Competition is coming from Samsung as well, with its Galaxy Note 4 phablet device on the way, while Google is preparing for the 16th of October, where it will unveil what can possibly have the potential of slowing down Apple’s market success, if not stopping it in its tracks.
