Yes but care to explain why they gave up the uniform then joined politics, stood for elections served in Senate for 20 years and then got elected as the President of the USA. Oh yes without sacking the CJ, closing the newspapers / TV and imprisoning half the opposition.

Majority lawyers, judges and journalists are part of present government.
Don't you see various opinion pools, majority of population is with Musharraf.

If Mush serve another 20 years in senate he will be 85 year old j/k. (impractical logic) CJs simple example, while ago military did operation in Lalmasjid against the extremist standoff, lost soldiers, within next few week CJ rules in favor and handover mosque back to those elements. ISI anti-terrorism unit complaint about CJs release of few extremist. Later ISI found those people again in bombing (Musharraf interview before kickin out CJ). If CJ was so interested in improvement, he should have taken action against the bureaucracy not against tamed servants like IGs and some junior police officers.
Mush action against media was right, because it was turning into anarchist monster. Look like media is govt. Media should stay in limit, like US, Europe and India. If the govt created the PAMRA ordinance, they should sign it, because same govt gave them so much freedom. Instead of street protest and gain nothing. Just a couple of examples of Western media staying in its limits:

**Bill Clinton and Monika Lewinsky scandal (whilst he was serving as
President of the USA). The US media was so ruthless that it almost cost
him his Presidency and he was almost impeached.

**Micheal Moore's movie documentary "Fahrenheit 911" in which he criticised government policies and directly made so much fun of George Bush (whilst he was still serving). The movie was screened in cinemas across the USA and the rest of the world without any fuss by the politicians. Bush didn't even attempt to ban it or lock Micheal Moore up for taking such a step! Ironically, the movie went up for many awards in Hollywood.

**George Micheal's animated video to one of his songs portrayed Tony Blair as a dog with Bush holding the leash...included in this video was Blair's wife in a very derogatory manner. The media thoroughly enjoyed broadcasting this video as much as they possibly could and the newspapers loved it too.



In the Western world, the media tear and shred politicians to pieces if they find even the smallest point against them - as I'm sure everyone here already knows.

We should keep in mind, nobody block Bill Clinton home or protest day and night non media cover the story 24/7. People keep the life in regular flow.
M Moore movie was seen, discuss and close the chapter. His topic was already known, people knew what he was covering in film. Did we see any blocked of white house, lawyers protest, political parties personal vendetta,
Dick Chaney select the supreme court judge,a most controversial case, did we see any lawyer protest in US street. Did any news channel gave excessive coverage and exciting the masses. Any anarchy in US.
Did Bush been stopped not sending army in Iraq ?. Anyone talk about the cut the US military budget in Iraq.
We never seen no show on jobs for political reasoning. Lawyers,univesities,teachers or etc on strike, just to condemn the govt action.
We are not ready for the freedom, which we are talking about. We have to go very slow. Back to square one, democracy works good or successful in educated and fully employed environment.

Did lawyers in US carries sticks and black mail their government, do they harrass civilians, do they burn cars and cross obstacles and ignore warning signs?
I remember, UK has arrested, sentenced and expeled many of its citizens who participated in protests during the cartoon row.
Many Imams of mosques, had be handed over to US just for speaking against a state minister.
In UK it is punishable by law to incite hate in society by speech or any means.
I urge such law shall be implemented in Pakistan without any delay only than the black mailing of state via media will end. We have seen enough of it.

Inciting Pakistani people against its own military is a crime equivalent to treason.
Technically, all responsible should be trialed in military courts.

You talk about India, we all know that no local or foreign press was allowed to travell to Kashmir.
Never 'door darshan' reported attrocities of IA in Kashmir. (If you not dis-agree)

With laws like OSA, ITA, NSA, TADA, India is nothing less than a country in a state of emergency. Despite of this undeclared unlimitd backdoor emergency in India, no journalist bothered to protest or assault police?
