Hopefully, no one has posted this before so i'll just go ahead assuming no one has lol

I'm actually looking forward to the movie. It looks pretty low star but I want to see it since its probably the first English movie attempt by Pakistan. Cant wait for the release!
:yahoo:

Apparently, its a tele-film, not a movie.

Yea I read a article on this movie on Dawn.com a few days ago and decided that I would try to see this movie.

. . .
And why is that?

People are wearing western clothing. only english music is played. no part of pak culture seems to be portrayed in the trailer. heck look at the name of the movie, isn't it doing a very good PR job of Pakistan, does it?

I don't expect anything good out of this movie. seriously, seems like another attempt to prove how 'advanced' and 'modern' they're to the westerners.

.
Pakistan is a society with high contrast....city life is quite different than rural, later constituting more than half population but what matters is city populace.
Every one who grew/studied in cities knows all this, no surprise.
Surely, terrorism has changed many things but seriously those indian journalists with american passports have no right to compare Pakistan with what they have been taught.
Pakistan till 1980 was also different, instead of jeans it use to be suits...

I love the colors of Pakistan.

that's the whole point of the flick......it's an illustration of how some of the elite of sleepy Isloo live worlds away from the lower/middle class segments of society

they DO wear western clothing. they DO drink imported booze. they DO party like there's no tomorrow. they DO cruise around the boulevards aimlessly in Mercedes-Benz S500s and Bimmers.

they numb themselves to the political developments of the country; because they have (inherited) economic interests within and outside the country ---which enables them to live rather comfortably

the whole point of the movie is that these people are Pakistanis, and they are proud Pakistanis......but to the outside eye, they resemble happy-go-lucky and financially well off youth who prefer to "kick it" and do their dining room get-togethers. Worlds away from the people who slave themselves all day from dawn till dusk just to be able to afford sustenance and a few liters of petrol.

The are just showing the 'other' side of Pakistan, the ultra-mod type, i mean. But what about our Super-Mods??

Sir...this is no ultra but a usual/normal civilian youth life and perhaps those breaded by army in isolation needed to see this movie as well. ;)
BTW....what is super mod?

i know they represent mostly the 'usual' youth of our country, but then these normality is not quite prevalent all across the country, so we can still classify them with the prefix ultra.

And there is nothing as super mod, i was actually hitting on our super moderators, though ultra-mod would unfold like ultra modern.

Ultra low class would be better ....

Listen everyone clearly According to the constitution of Pakistan the Alcohol is Banned so is its advertisement and makes me think The this movie is a clear violation of the national constitution .

These guys who are " openly drinking" in a movie which would be watched by the Youth of Islamic republic of Pakistan should be brought to justice and must be Punished & the movie Must cut these scenes too because it can lead Pakistani youth to the use of Alcohol .

These " Sharabis " do not represent our National image we must weed out these " evils " from our society and not let them drink and feel proud of going against the National constitution and making fun of it.. .

" Pakistan. Since 1977, only non-Muslim groups such as Christians, Zoroastrians and Hindus are permitted to apply for alcohol permits in Pakistan. The monthly allotment usually depends on income but it is typically 100 bottles of beer or 5 bottles of liquor.

Enforced by Pakistan's Islamic Ideology Council, the ban is strictly enforced. "

BTW its not a feature film but a tele film.

Hold your horses.... i thought its a movie!! how can you convict them..... have you ever seen Pakistani punjabi films? holly wood movies? are those for real?
If we start convicting people on alcoholism than we need to turn cities into jail!!! :azn:
I'm surprised to see your surprise at alcohal consumption in Pakistan..... very unhealthy habit though....

Pakistan's ideology was a state which will be home land for majority muslims, a place where they cannot be discriminated based on their religous affiliations, or ethnicity and further growing into a modern state.
Anyhow, I'm more worried about growing corruption and declining state of economy rather than a subject of movie or unearthing the historic ideology of Pakistan.

.
Movie might not be everyones cup of tea. I would like to watch the movie.
The movie is not a documentary and is providing a point of view from a certain part of the society.

Do muslims not drink in Pakistan? The answer is yes they do. Is it against the our religion and law... yes it is. But it happens. So the movie is not misrepresenting anything. Like it or not, these people are a part of the Pakistani society.
