PESHAWAR: Six key commanders of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan's (TTP) Mehsud faction surrendered to security forces near the Afghan border in Upper Kurram Agency Saturday night.

Former TTP chief Hakeemullah Mehsud's brother Ejaz Mehsud and uncle Khair Muhammad are among those who gave themselves up in the Shahidano Dhand area, security sources said.

According to security sources, the surrendered TTP commanders have been shifted to Dera Ismail Khan and will later be sent to a rehabilitation centre established by the Army in Swat for counselling.

Some of your generals are saying, 'We're making progress. We are clearing an area.' But you really don't defeat the Taliban by clearing an area. They move.

They move to Afghanistan.

Our generals and our forces have conquered every last remaining stronghold of TTP dogs and now stand at Afghan-Pak border. Violent local and foreign anti-state assets in Karachi have been neutralized. Our forces are now moving in South Punjab for clearing up last remains of this garbage.

The level of insurgent violence in the country has gone down by gigantic margins (Lowest in a decade!!)...Mashallah!

Our economic growth is near 5% now and things are seemingly getting better.

There's a lot of to be done still--but the work has finally started!

The first objective of the Ops Zarb-e-Azb was to recapture the area and cleanse it of those morons and that has successfully been done. Regarding moving, yes the did move as our Afghan brethren and ISAF cudnt or to be more specific didnt seal their part of border. So yeah the talis did move to Afghanistan but many more are now realizing that they are fighting a futile war, hence they are coming back under a deal and renouncing militancy here. U deny them area and finances, they are forced to lay down their arms.

Good! But will the security forces take action against the LeT and JeM too? I think that's asking too much. The 'good terrorists' are here to stay! And that's the tragedy. :undecided:

Ohh please! An Indian serving officer was captured in Baluchistan and here you are accusing us of supporting Good terrorists? India is also supporting good terrorists that is the TTP in Afghanistan and nothing has changed on the ground which is a tragedy considering we really should be looking at the economic prospects and not fuelling terrorism inside each other territory.
PS Just to be clear Kashmir isnt Indian territory until Kashmiris say so in the referendum which is promised to them.

This is a significant development in sense that those who laid down arms were former TTP chief Hakeemullah Mehsud's brother Ejaz Mehsud and uncle Khair Muhammad and this is a giant leap towards long lasting peace and prosperity esp in South Waziristan and more significantly as these were held in quite high esteem by other talis so dont get surprised if more esp from Mehsud's clan follow the suit and renounce violence.

Ice bhai! You claim India is supporting the TTP? Really? Have you got any proof? Your Sartaj Aziz made a mockery of the so called dossiers of 'Indian involvement' and claimed they contained incontrovertible proof. He later backtracked and said the info contained in the dossiers were conjecture and that there was no proof mentioned in those so called dossiers! Jeeez!

The UN threw these dossiers into the waste bin and then later dispatched to the incinerator!

So much for Pakistan's allegations of Indian 'involvement'!!

The UN threw these dossiers? where? Were you there when they were thrown. Seriously the less you rely on Indian media the better. Sartaj Aziz did not backed tracked on anything.

This is what he said:

Testifying before the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, which met with Senator Nuzhat Sadiq in the chair, Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said the dossiers instead contained the “pattern and narrative” of Indian involvement.

The dossiers have been meticulously prepared, but material evidence cannot be shared for the sake of protecting the sources,” he said, adding that the proofs could have only been provided to others in the narrative shape.

Now you can spin it all you like but it does not change the fact on ground. The only problem i see here is the US involvement because no matter what kind of evidence is shared with them they are not going to speak against India. For US its like a new GF with a shady past and no matter how many times she has slept with others, US does not want to talk about that.
Moreover when you arrest an Indian naval official from Baluchistan, the proof cannot anymore refutable than that?

You are hosting terrorist in the name of free Baluchistan movement. Till the time we both agree there is a problem nothing is going to change.

I guess they realized the futility of fighting the state. At the very least they should be thoroughly debriefed.

. . . .
There is something called law and it must be allowed to take its course.

But where was the law when Prophet Muhammad PBUH entered makkah and forgave everybody, that was called reconciliation for a greater cause even though they were the killers and mutilators of Hazrat Hamza. Always hit your enemy hard first and then negotiate/reconciliate. That's how winning is done. Balochistan model.

You are hosting terrorist in the name of free Baluchistan movement. Till the time we both agree there is a problem nothing is going to change.

You are trying to convince someone whose country and media says that India has never sponsored cross-border terrorism in the neighborhod !!

Hundreds of thousands of innocent lives that lost due to LTTE, Mukti-Bahini, TTP, BLA attrocities is not terrorism for India.

The state of denials indians live in is too deep to bring them back to reality. So you are wasting time with these Indians bro...
