our lack luster diplomacy and internal political limitations are contributing negatively towards security deterioration,
the politicians have washed their hands from rehabilitation and approaching the people to help defeat the militancy.
few odd weapons laying ceremonies you see are also sponsored and helped by the military. military can only fight the people who have picked up the arms and are currently in a fight with the state. it cant prevent the ones that are disillusioned and susceptible to anti state propaganda. this is the job of political leadership but its more worried for personal survival.

We are suffering casualties, but right on the periphery. To finish it will take time.

Yeah but there low intensity tactics are very active since 1970. It's never stopped. I remember one of good friend died was PAA trainee pilot with instructor flying Alouette in Baluchistan. Even though his parents were told technical failure but some accounts were quite opposite. I think they are more organized and lethal then TTP. Because we trained all these ex-mujahideen during first Afghan war and master knows the dog well....anyway....

Why the hell are we not buying MRAP and Vechiles which are better in taking hit for GOD sake. Every country which faced insurgency first thing they did was getting MRAP for their soldiers. If we can but VT 4 and 10 Frigates and Submarines than we can buy MRAP and better protected vechiles

Pretty much, kinetic military options can only take you so far, other elements of national power need to be brought into the field.
