can any Turkish member shed light why it was necessary for Turkey to go for S400 and jeopordize the entire F35 program?
Turkey will be part of project of Azm or Pakistan will be part of Turkish 5th generation platform remains to be seen but one thing is for sure that both countries will be involved closely in the next generation fighter program.Turkey can Join Project Azm

Much of the details on AZM is not known but it will not be based entirely on J-31, we might end up in with Turkey on this one. J-31 to be AZM is just a rumor.Azm is based on J-31. China will never allow Turkey to join Azm because of Turkey's backing of East Turkestan secession.
Maybe they are going to the UAE or KSA now.. most likely the UAE first..https://www.defenseworld.net/news/2...o_be_Handed_over_to_US_Air_Force#.XuRCU5Z7nCI
The United States National Defence Authorisation Act (NDAA) 2021 has authorized the Air Force to utilize, modify, and operate six Turkish F-35s that were manufactured but never delivered because Turkey was suspended from the F-35 program.
The NDAA which is expected to be passed into law will mean the official exit from the F-35 program for Turkey for continuing with the purchase and operation of the Russian S-400 air defence system (ADS).
The NDAA bill makes no mention of the $1.5 billion advance paid by Turkey to buy the aircraft. Ankara has demanded a refund following the US not delivering two aircraft as per schedule.
Of the six aircraft, two were being used to train Turkish pilots when the row with the US broke out in 2018.
The closure to Turkey's quest for F-35 jets is expected to make it go closer to Russia for modern jets and accelerate efforts on its TX jet project.
There are reports that Ankara may retaliate by restricting US military aircraft flights from its Incirlik air base.
The real question here is not whose weapons turkey may buy,or be forced to buy,in the future, but whether turkey will continue to be a nato member,as with this action by the americans it now seems very clear that at least under the chump and erdo regimes, that turkey is effectively frozen out of natos 5th gen airpower upgrade and that its western supplied airpower will be restricted to its current 4th gen capabilities only.
At some point in the near future turkey is likely going to have to make some hard choices.......and it isnt going to be about which countries fighters or sam systems it should purchase either.
Ok so u know what no one else know? Can you share with us how it's based on j31 when the only image is from tail art on a c130. It has canard and j31 doesnt. Additionally, it may not be a true representation?Azm is based on J-31. China will never allow Turkey to join Azm because of Turkey's backing of East Turkestan secession.
Russia will be super happy to sell, problem is that Russian jets are not even close to F-35.
Not true. Total 3 F-35 crashed in 2018, 2019 and 2020. F-35 fleet conducted nearly 300,000 flight hours. One crash per 100,000 hours shows excellent reliability. The F-35 is literally trash and has crashed twice in recent weeks.
Well in the end smart kids rule the world, while MMA fighters entertain them like monkeys in circus. The F-35 is like a fatkid trying to 'outsmart' an MMA fighter because he scored high on an IQ test.
