Lemonde.fr revealed that the negociations seem to have ended today, and it needs the official signature of Al Sissi and probably Hollande (or Le Drian) and also said that it will be officially signed on Monday in Cairo. (if there's no problem or whatever):bunny:

So :

-24 Rafales
-Missiles (SCALP,MICA,AASM)
-1 FREMM (So,the FREMM Normandie will become Egyptian, this is a good news for us,because if Egypt takes the Normandie, our chief of staff of the navy said that we will accelerate the production of the FREMMs and our navy will have 4 FREMM before 2016,because our navy really needs new and modern ships to replace the old ships....,so good for us good for Egypt. :bunny: )
congratulations to us all cant wait to see rafales joining the EAF

. . .
It's not done yet...If the deal goes thru despite it only lacks the two presidents signature, it is a tremendous France's give away, finally she placed in Egypt a toy that nobody wants. The question remains if Egypt can use it to its full capability? That's the big question!
Algeria is still ruling the African skies, if that what you are getting too...Rafales or amar bouzouar is not going to change much ....The SU30 MKA are still dominant...

The deal is done Ceylal, every other signing is a formality. Let's hope the UAE, Qatar, and of course India follow suit (didn't you say it's a fighter no one wanted?). You can believe the SU-30MKA is superior if you want to, btw:-

If you get them and the deal goes thru, I will go to a spa for a Brazilian bikini wax, And I will post the picture in PDF!

Are you a man of your word?

Anyway, Mabrouk to the Egyptian Air Force and Navy, and Mabrouk to Das, DCNS, and France.

Egypt: Al-Sissi between the drops of indignation market

Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, June 25, 2014 in Algiers (Farouk BATICHE / AFP)

This time it's done. Almost. It's never been so close. The contract of sale of 24 Rafale has been "approved" by Egyptian President al-Sissi Monday night. There is sign. The world holds its breath.

"It would be unheard of," are we told the World in Paris. I hear you. Think it'll still scupper the last moment. As in India. As in Brazil. But do not tell it to the world. They believe it.

Rafale, immediately
Ah, a small detail, all the same, unfortunate, shade Le Monde the next day . An incident a mistake. These Rafale, Egyptians want them right away. Right away?Yes, right now, given what is happening in Libya.

You know, Libya, the country in a state of total anarchy, since the anti-Gaddafi war triggered by BHL. Like what you criticize Sarkozy lot, but there still has moral of the story. We destroy Libya, okay, it makes a mess in Mali but they sell Rafale neighbor.

But that's it. 24 Rafale, it does not have them in stores. What to do? The Egyptians have a good idea. "Go to levy on French quotas," said Le Monde.Egyptians take it more so, than Americans themselves, "given the proximity of Israel," selling their aircraft "slanted". Bridés how? "Bride" t be a hunter as a Moped? They do not exceed 60 per hour? No more than one missile every five minutes? The article does not say. It's amazing what you learn by reading articles on armaments.

A mass trial 'unprecedented'
Other news from Egypt? Yes I Am. The appeal trial of three journalists from Al Jazeera, held since 2013, and accused of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood,to begin on Thursday .

And if not, a court on Monday confirmed the death sentence of 183 Muslim Brotherhood supporters, accused of involvement in the killing of 13 policemen, which was itself following the death of 700 protesters during the takeover of al-Sissi marshal.

The UN has described the mass trial on which the Western press has been particularly discreet, to unprecedented in the history of the world. '

On the network, packages useful 'to the cause
If I tell you all this is because I never ceases to amaze me the indifference enjoyed in the French press, the Egyptian regime. In reaching this conclusion, I submit to democratically debate regarding violations of human rights, our indignation are arrowed.

Social networks and mainstream media peddle outrage that depending on ideological and diplomatic criteria specified. Pro-Israel, pro-Palestinian, pro-Ukrainian, pro-Russians Islamophiles, Islamophobic, affect the network packages 'useful' to the cause, and only them.

The mainstream press, it chooses its causes in a strange schizophrenia alignment between French Foreign hysterical denunciation of 'realpolitik' of that diplomacy (in the case of China, for example). It seems that Egypt, because of its peculiarities, does not fit into these categories. It therefore passes between the drops. And she buys us Rafale. Almost.

@Frogman
Congratulation, Egypt pulled it off with bravado in regard to speed and delivery schedule. In a short time, you made a greater deal than Morocco had with Sarkozy. Regarding the SU30 MKA , the craft is superior and still the king of the African skies. Now between the Moroccan F16 and the Egyptian Rafales our eagles have finally something to put entre les dents..

Finally our king of the African skies will have some French camembert a mettre sous les dents...The SU30MKA is still the king Frogman. Don't you forget it..

Are you a man of your word?
You bet, I have already scheduled a spa seance..waiting for the Cairo fireworks Monday!
Congratulations are in order, Egypt pulled a great deal in the short time possible, and for France , the hex is lifted on her expensive toy...

. .
SU 30 is a lot a better than anything that France have

lol, trying to say that an aircraft with an RCS of an elephant and a PESA radar is better than a semi-stealth fighter jet with an AESA (RBE2-AA) radar and a cutting edge EW suite? LOL LOL, not even technologically comparable.

Even your Russian "king" has French avionics, the Algerians chose French avionics for their Su-30's over the decades lacking behind Russian Rubbish technology.

What I still dont understand is why Egypt needs to buy Rafales when it has a large fleet of F-16s? @Gabriel92 @Frogman :)

1.Rafale is a superior fighter jet to the F16-on a hypothetical scenario it could be an answer to the Israeli F35.

2.Rafale comes with MICA medium range missiles,SCALP cruise missile and, very likely with the METEOR BVR missile in the near future.

Because there's a large fleet of MIG-21 , F-7 , Mirage 5 , that needs to be replaced. the MIG's will be replaced with MIG-29/MIG-35 , the Mirage-5 fleet (about 80) will be replaced with UAE's Mirage-2000 and Rafale. And the Chinese F-7 i think will be replaced with JF-17.
