Why do we want ties anyway? Why are we drooling to have ties. If they don't want them why should we. Stop drooling for India PPP thugs.

Easy, lets be sober - AZ has pointed out that this has more to do with elections - and if you recall a thread "Co-Existence with India" thread - there is an article there by Congress MP - there is a context within which this is being played out, we would better served exploring that - this whole put on hold is smoke and mirrors - India need not just good relations but excellent relations with Pakistan and the same is true for Pakistan - Why so? Others here have pointed to it, yes, economics, but really geo-economics, without good relations between Pakistan and India, India remain a subcontinental phenomenon, without good relations with India, Pakistan remains captive to not only the ideology and creatures of it's own making, it risks fragmentation, nuclear power or no nuclear power.

And keep it that way...No one in Pakistan is dying to has relations with India...Just wait till few months...US&Nato has already started to with draw...Then we will see...Indians are up for a big surprise...

Nothing surprises us anymore including the beheading of our soldiers. Vajpayee got his surprises when he initiated the bus diplomacy.....after that, if our PM goes to your country then he is the biggest fool in the world. Anyway your army does not like us to be too friendly.... you know why.

Manmohan Singh has continually acted antagonistic towards us. I don't know how long the grouchiness is going to last anyway? Pakistanis shouldn't give the impression we are begging for ties here. Its a horrible way to proceed and its again a foreign policy not suited to us.

There should be mutual will to proceed with ties otherwise forget them. We can't be the ones pushing for them all the time.

Also muse I believe it is since the Mumbai attacks... presidency has nothing to do with it since Manmohan is not the type of people hungry for wealth and power. He is known as the clean man of India and congress. Unfortunately only we have a habit of electing the worst people on the planet.

My point was this should make us angry. The Zardari government can be blamed of anything but it can never be accused of not trying to forge peace between Pakistan and India. We are too nonchallant about these things Muse. It says Singh keeps Pak ties halted.

What we really need is a massive movement in Kashmir. India is a useless country. It has too much tantrums and mood swings. We must not back away from our legitimate claim on Kashmir.

We have seen in the last decade, India is not a sincere country. It does not want to talk and it does not want to act. So leave this policy of appeasing them.

Singh Saheb you are economist not an expert on foreign affair. Had you instead of wasting 8 years of tenure on trying to mend ties with Pakistan( on the order of yr master's in Washington ) you concentrated on India's economy you would have done justice to yr real talent and to would have done wonders for India's economy.
