Simplest way to explain why all China-India border conflicts ended up stalemates

I wish now Chinese leadership sees you Indians what you truly are and put the knife in.

India is ripe for a breakup. If China take a little initiative in Ladakh, Pakistan moves on Kashmir, India's north west would be broken without shadow of a doubt. The fall out would also involved "Khalistan" as independent country.
And instead, they are pulling their troops back. Either they don't see what you see or it's the other way around.
I honestly am gunning for the "age of Asia" but there's no way that's going to happen with the number of short-sighted people we have.

In every country, in every establishment, there are people who profess that "Trade" should be the focus.
I think Chinese, at the moment trying to avoid confrontation. They know that India is a small fry and acting because Americans pushed them.

India came to their senses after they got a snub from Biden, after which they agreed to some of Chinese demands, thus, the agreement is reached to disengage.

This agreement could have reached months ago, but Indians were thinking they have the backing of the USA so they were thinking to get some millage out of it. After Biden statement , that thinking in India blown away and they agreed.

Why Chinese willing to pull back? it is for long term stability of border, of course they can force into India and get some land, but then that area will never be stable, always have problem! with negotiation, everyone agree upon a border, then it will be forever peace! Chinese leader choose the later!
btw, I was shocking, with about 600 India against initially 10 Chinese army, later increase to 70, India still lost the flight, it is almost 10: 1.

Despite your "advantage"....you guys are hesitant of giving India an actual, permanent blow...killing more of their soldiers or taking more of their territory.

What're you guys afraid of? :D
China doesn't want to spend too much resources on India. China has more important things to deal with. We know the root reason for all problems(including India) is USA. Wasting too much resources on a pawn is a strategical mistake.

It's call priority. India is more of a nuisance than a threat to China. What China really want is concentrate it's resources solving the problem of Taiwan first.

Let's see if China has the balls to take Taiwan. :D

And how is China going to "solve this problem" with the USA??

The US isn't going anywhere anytime soon. :D

From the video, we can see the majority of IA soldiers were just standing across the river and watching. Chances are they were the ones who fled and drown at the first sign of the front line collapes. So the real ratio of engaged soldiers is not that dramatic.

They may look cocky, but they turn into rout easily. In 1962 border war, Chinese soldiers spent more time hunting down fled Indian soldiers in the woods than actual fighting.

Chinese soldiers fought in formations. In none of the leaked videos or images have I ever seen the Indians fight in anything resembling a formation. The Galwan terrain favors the defenders who can form a shield wall. As long as the troops are stead fast and disciplined, they are basically invulnerable to attacks from melee weapons. PLA reinforcements not only had riot helmets and riot shields, but also wore padded armor that protect limbs, joints, and torso. None of the Indian soldiers had armor and I think they tried to compensate somewhat by wearing puffer jackets. Those could get water logged fairly easily and probably ended up doing more harm than good.

It has more to do with their fighting spirit. Many Indians work in military, simply because it is a stable job , comparing to 90% of Indians who work in "informal sector" where they get daily weges barely enough to have 2 square meals per day for family. I am not sure how India compensate their martyrs, and it may not be worthwhile for them to fight to death.

They are actually similar to late Ming Weisuo soldiers in this regard. You’ve got a bloated army of “professional” soldiers who are basically in it for a job and nothing else. Most of the military funds go to maintaining a large number of grunts instead of acquiring or making advanced weapons. This could strain morale and discipline, to say the least.

Right. It is a long competition. But before the "problem" is solved, China should avoid making mistake. The one who made fewer mistakes is more like to win.

if china can turn desert into forest i m pretty sure she could manage USA well

US has done that too. Turning a desert into a oasis is not the same as turning a global superpower into a non-superpower...

You say like turning deserts into oasis is a hard thing to do with today's tech.

years ago China take on USA in both Korea war and Vietnam war,win both times! do you think Taiwan is more powerful than USA? Therefore China got BIG balls, then you will ask why not take on Taiwan now? [emoji1][emoji1] ask any Chinese they all have answer for you!

Ask a senior military officer, is there a right way cross a river? Is IA cross the right way? Then you will know why did IA lost this fight!
