But their was no sikh party in any of elections man.Most of our sikh leadership wanted a separate homeland but cunning nehru and patel didn't let that happen.I think our leadership didn't have much clout over the british.You are lucky you had a leader like mister jinnah.The mistake we made came to haunt us the first time when the indians were writing their constitution.They wrote in it that sikhs were hindus and will have same hindu laws as hindus.For example when a sikh dies in india it is written on his death certificate that he was a hindu.The sikh members of the constitution writing committe rejected the constitution right away.The committee passed the constitution anyway without the sikhs' approval.They don't even recognise our religeon.Even the international communitee hasn't taken note of this.
If sikhs wanted a homeland where was their representation in british india?
It was not just Mr Jinnah. Whole ML struggled for almost 50 years. But sikhs made no such effort.
Wonder why. Too much trust on Hindus perhaps
