Muslims hold Medical Camp at Sikh shrine, the Golden Temple
AMRITSAR: Sir Syed Forum primarily comprising of AMU, Aligarh alumni Forum organized a medical camp at Harmandhar Sahib (Golden Temple) here today on the occasion of birth anniversary of founder of Sikh religion Guru Nanak Dev.
The Camp was inaugurated by Jathedar Akal Takht (highest Sikh temporal seat) Gyani Gurbachan Singh, who praised the efforts of the doctors from Aligarh Muslim University on the occasion religious day.
Former Union Minister & AMU Alumnus Arif Mohd Khan, was present in the camp, encouraged the initiative and reminded about Sir Syed’s contribution towards communal harmony & his emphasis on it on every
possible occasion.
Arif Mohd Khan said that for Muslims Guru Nanak Dev known as Baba Nanak peer and Muslims have immense regard for this highly spiritual and enlightened Baba Nanak Peer.
The Sir Syed Forum is unequivocally committed to pursue his ideals, and to create goodwill has planned to organize Medical camps on special occasions to serve the Indians of various denominational backgrounds. During Kumbh Mela we organized few medical camps at Haridwar in the months of March and April, 2010, said coordinator of the medical camp S Husain Waheed.
A dozen Doctors from Aligarh, Swami Bhoomanand Teerth Charitable trust, Haridwar & Birla sugar mills extended their selfless services in the camp to treat hundreds of patients who have been queuing up
since morning for treatment of various ailments, stated Waheed.
