Sikh players of Indian basketball team forced to remove turbans

.
Better to walk off court that to remove your Pagri. Respect to all those who cover their heads in honour of their love to the Lord.

. . .
This is entirely different- Burkhas are more of a cultural tradition than actually mandated as part of a religion and that too are controversial (seen as a form of female repression and such). For Sikhs who wears a Turban the ultimate insult is to tell them to remove their turban. It is a big no no as part of our teachings and history. Sikhs aren't fools when they need to they will remove their full turban if they need to wear a helmet or such but there is zero need for them to remove their turbans for playing sports- there are numerous examples of Sikhs playing sports with turbans no issue whatsoever.

Pretty disgraceful really.

Someone explain to me how a piece of cloth can cause harm to other players?

You are missing the point. Belief is personal and a sports governing body not wanting to get into the business of which beliefs are genuine and which not is understandable.

Secularism

Secularism is the principle of the separation of government institutions and persons mandated to represent the state from religious institutions and religious dignitaries. One manifestation of secularism is asserting the right to be free from religious rule and teachings, or, in a state declared to be neutral on matters of belief, from the imposition by government of religion or religious practices upon its people

loo pajji, in case of a secular body, they should be neutral towards all religion

We can continue the limbo, but I'm not interested. The person that posted pics of players with headbands are actually called sweatbands. I doubt they will allow Sikhs to wear the turban.

Why do they need to put turbans while playing Basketball ??? Most guys used to play with patkas on when we played National's under 18's.
