The problem for you guys is that Western racists do not care even if the Sikh guy screams at the top of his lungs that he is not a Muslim.

The Western media has portrayed an image of their "enemy" in their movies and TV shows, which has led to the phenomemon known as "Flying while brown". And no, they can't tell by looking at someone what their religion is.

I have faced problems in an airport once, in South Korea. Why? Because the troublemakers they are looking for (North Koreans) look like East Asians, so naturally they will be more suspicious of people who look East Asian. But in the rest of the world, the stereotype (from Western media) has put the suspicion on people from South/West Asia.

So whatever "image problems" you think they have, it is your problem too. Doesn't matter if they are Sikh/Muslim/Hindu, in fact from the media reports it seems that Sikhs/Hindus actually get it worse than the others, especially in North America.

The turban... it's always the turban. Ironically i have never met a turban wearing Muslim... but even the emoji represents a muslim in a turban.
