What the OP meant and what this thread has degenerated into is totally different. Please dont think I am supporting a Indian minister who 9 out of 10 times are spewing bullshit. But this guy is actually telling us something which is a relatively unknown phenomena and actually correct.
Scientifically it is true that methane is a more harmful gas than CO2 when it comes to greenhouse effect.
Every cow has bacteria in its gut that help digest the cow's
food, but also produce a gas called methane in the process. Methane is called
a "greenhouse gas" because it traps heat in the atmosphere like carbon-
dioxide. So if you add up hundreds of burps from millions of cows, you get a
lot of methane going into the atmosphere, which is just one of many sources of air pollution.
Neither is it in OP's power to ban eating of beef throughout the world nor his intention but his statement was not stupid (although to an ignorant person it may look like that).
.
By taking the highlighted part in your post into consideration, it is assumed that the real problem are the cows and their digestion system right?
So if we want to put a tab on dangerous emission due to Cow burps then we must eliminate all the cows from the planet.
what you say?
