Yeah...there was a typo. Fixed it. AndWOAH! You have got a helluva gaming PC! How is the Gigabyte X58 based motherboard? Is it good for overclocking? Is Ultra-120 still a good buy?

Which model is it?

thats Sony VPCEA1S1E

Holy sh**! That thing is a monster! Six cores with a solid state drive! And you already have a just-released 6870. How is its performance?

I have lately thinking to get a AMD too instead of Intel. What would you recommend? What is your stock CPU clock? You didn't mention your CPU cooler either.

It is pretty solid i was getting about 42-44fps on average in bad company 2 with everything maxed out and DirectX 11 enabled.

On 1080p res? I was thinking to buy this one for my new PC but I am hesitant because of ATI crappy drivers. Glitches! They keep updating drivers for every new game.

Cooler is a CM 212+ and stock is 2.80ghz. The cooler is able to handle the current clock pretty well. I have pushed it to 4.0ghz a few times but the temps start to get pretty crispy i may have to pick up a NH-D14 down the road. As far as AMD or Intel it really depends on what you want and how much you want to spend on it. AMD is pretty much the price/performance king while intel has the fastest processors out with the gulftown 6 core and their I7s.

Correct 1900x1200 res. I have not had any driver issues as of yet. Though i did hear people have issues with older driver releases. AMD now releases them every month and they have addressed most of the issues.

Jigs why not route 8pin ATX cable via back side of motherboard tray? 690 II has holes for cable management IIRC. yea get rid of H212+, not fan of HDT coolers, buy VenemousX, Megahalems or Noctua. I have same GD70 mobo in AMD rig paired with X4 965 C3.

@ Indestructible - Yes, its feature rich mobo, UD series from Gigabyte is superhit, I have UD5 version, now UD7 with USB3, SATA3 is available, UD9 is targetted at benchmarkers. But I won't change mobo now, waiting for SandyBridge Quad / AMD Bulldozer.

True120 still rocks for me, with higher TDP chips, its still king.

Guys i want some advice on this cooler thing, i have a intel core duo processor with 1.66GHZ and the mother board is Mercury. I also have a graphic card NVIDIA GEforce 5800 which i brought some 3 years back, just a week back i had to take this mother board for repair as the condensors or something got burnt up on it , it seems. Oh and i have a 1TB harddisk and a 500gb harddisk.

Can a cooler be fitted individually in the CPU box?? and if so what should i get??
