That is fine - I personally don't disagree that the attackers were Pakistani, but that is a different argument than alleging that the ISI/PA were, as institutions, involved in planning, supporting, perpetrating the Mumbai attacks.Three things ,
First even if we were to accept that Pak State agencies were not involved in the Mumbai attacks, it has been proved beyond a shadow of doubt that the attackers were indeed Pakistanis and we have Zardari,Rehman Malik, Qureshi on record saying that those were fromj pakistan but were "non state actors".
Lets look at what the dossiers sent to Pakistan are supposed to contain - evidence against lakhvi and the other accused. I am not aware of any credible evidence in those dossiers implicating the ISI/PA, and that is my point.Secondly the allegation that dozens of dossiers sent were rubbish (even though no one has actually seen what bit contains ) atleast a dossier has been sent. Has Pak ,for all the vented hot air, sent one dossier about Indian involvement in Balochistan ? Let it be rubbish, but has it been sent ?
Arguing against the complicity of individuals such as HS is fine, but taking the argument to the level of accusing the State/Military/Intelligence itself is a much more inflammatory position, and should be backed by credible evidence.
I think the Pakistani panel's argument is a good one - a similar one should be made by an Indian panel to the Indian parliament and intelligence regarding the Mumbai attacks. We have not seen any credible evidence supporting the claim of ISI/PA/PN involvement (as institutions) in the Mumbai attacks.
Thats fine, but my point is that as Indian commentators, when YOU raise the issue of providing evidence, it automatically will entail a response from the Pakistani commentators regarding evidence against the ISI/PA.Thirdly we are not requesting any proofs, it is a Pakistani org that is requesting that. Provide them atleast - they are Pakistani citizens and convince them.
Hence my suggestion that both sides come to an agreement to leave these threads and accusations alone until credible evidence by one side or the other, suggesting State complicity, is actually provided.
The exact same argument also applies to India and Indians. And if anyone wishes ton hide behind the facade that Pakistan was NOT involved in any single disturbance in neighboring countries , then no amount of same reasoning can convince such a person.
