That was before the mass migration before parition. They went to India, and persecuted Muslims came to Pakistan and took their place. AFter parition Hindu population was 1.3%.

India's Muslim population went down 67% in 70 years. Muslims continue to suffer riots, rapes, extreme violence (anyone remembers womb cut open with sword during Gujarat riot?) and in a few decades it is predicted India will become a pure Hindu rashtra.
