Should Rajput Class Destroyers be Transferred to Vietnam and Philliphines

Bramoth maybe supersonic but all the SAMs on China's ships are all supersonic and much faster. There is no evidence that the Bramoth can penetrate China's air defense circle.

On the other hand, Indian ships generally lack of modern SAM systems. In a similar way, a boat like this can sink your oldest or VN/Phil's newest destroyer. I doubt the radar on Rajput can find these boats from 200KM away.

It has EL/M 2238 Radar with Range upto 350 Km.

So the safest way is to stop at 350KM and attack then. Unlike Bramoth, these boats can carry cruise missile with range more than 1k km.

That's why the US and China don't deploy supersonic cruise missiles on their ships. Sub-sonic cruise missiles have much longer attack range and is more stealth if flying right about the sea.

For supersonic missiles like Bramoth, if it tries do the same, the air friction will cut short it's already shortened range greatly. But if the Bramoth choose the fly high route, it will be captured by the radar soon after launch and being intercepted by a SAM in the middle of the way.

We should give them Made in India Super Sukhoi Su30 MKI with Brahmos . We can get a naval base in return that would in turn strengthen their security. Win win situation .

Fast attack ships works in the near sea which just suits the case when the Indian fish is served on our table.

That is why they have terrain hugging feature. And The Best part about is the Reaction Time. You have Few Seconds to respond. If the SAM is in standby Mode by chance then too It takes anyway from 20-30 Seconds to Start.

Make no sense for arming Vietnam against China.India should take a longterm and much potent approach rather rallying around VN or PH and escalating matter.Let them fight it with their own.Rather focus on dismal economic growth.All this euphoria of MMRCA,FGFA,Modern Destroyer will vanish within a span of 5 year if our economy continues to do bad.

Not as easy as you think..
Although the land based variant may be moved as it is on the canister on that ship.. it still needs target data.

They will be phased out only after Kolkata Class are Inducted on Ship Basis.
