F-16 has its own tailor-made plug-and-play (in a few hours) APG-83 AESA Radar, it will be a good perspective for the Pakistani F-16s.. What is you take on it guys, can/should Pakistan try to get it on its F-16s.. my take is definitely yes, what about you?

i think the issue is money not uncle sam here.
if we are going to pay salaries woth 3-4 billion (30-40 million $) rupees per month to steel mills people who are doing nothing and some are hired additionally on contract than you cant pay for this stuff

As of now there is no AESA in subcontinent ... hence to maintain the strategic balance and provided that india is not procuring f16v (which india will not) then our next upgrade will be of AESA radar ...

I agree that money is the issue not the approval as alot of countries are retiring f16s and US want to keep it companies profitable so they will sell provided that it does not effect the strategic balance ....

F16s to stay relevant this upgrade is a must otherwise f16s will become second tier aircraft as they will not be able qithstand rafael and updated sukhoi ...

I think it should have been a "could" rather than a "should" in the title.

COULD/CAN Pakistan get APG83 AESA for its F16s.

i dont think so.Money issues, Uncle Sam having a problem with giving us any such thing anymore, Indian lobby will cry a river and risk floods in USA. All this considered, i am quite sure there is no AESA or sych modern upgrade for our F16s. We still want some 18 more Blk52 and that is apprantly a problem right now, forget APG 83

Questions is not should but can Pakistan upgrade it's F-16 fleet with AESA rader. Along with upgrading with aesa sleep program can taken to take the fleet to it's limit.

The reality is, America will not transfer any technology that gives Pakistan a decisive edge. So, yes, it would be nice to have these radars, but it is a guarantee we will not become a threat to India because of it.

IT HAS NO AESA!! GOT THAT?
Sir what can expect from a person who cannot differentiate between AESA radar and percision strike capability ... but this makes me wonder why jaguar got this upgrade so late ? Prime purpose of jaguar is ground strike and even if that was not upto modern standard then what was the capability of this aircraft earlier ...

Don't think we will get approval until unless India decide something about their single engine
Jet probability if not f16 from USA for India then we might have a chance some where down the line may be after another 4 to 6 years

No AESA for f-16s from anywhere, forget the Yankee one.

Which is why very few people like myself strongly believe in the fact that PAF "should" and not "could" move on. Imagine a fighter which forms the primary back bone of our air force yet being handicapped due to geopolitics and Uncle SAM tilt towards India.

Sir why this simple logic is not being consumed by stomuch of decision makers in PAF ????

We were American ally when pressler ammendment hit us back whereas russia supported completely her ally India in getting nuclear tech ...

I wonder how many times will we be bitten by same snake ...
