Should Germany unification in 1989 have included Austria?

Unlike Switzerland which is predominantly ethnic Germans, Austria is 100% ethnic Germans. Ignore wiki there is no such thing as ethnic Austrian.

Its a hard question to be frank, How alike were the Minds of Austria and Germany in 1989 ? Before WW2 they were alike, but both West Germany and DDR Germany went trough re-education programs and luckily for Austria they didn't suffer the same fate. In the end I would let the people on both sides hold a referendum and see if the populations are in favor or against.

Mate i know you get paid by the posts, so i assume you're eagerness to troll is a result of malnutrition and you'll just about do or say anything to have that 0.06€/post with which you can alleviate your hunger.

Be that as it may, i drive through Austria at least 4 times a year, and not even through the most financed part, ie Vienna with perifery, but western parts, Innsbruck and such, and it is in no way underdeveloped and poor and whatever.

Why should germany annex austria? Thats laughable. Both are EU member states and already form a unity.

Thats like saying what if bavaria inside germany would annex thueringia. Or what if California want annext Oregon.

There are many Germans and Austrians who think they should be 1 country. Everyone knows the EU is a farce that won't last long.
