Should Asia play a part in the Syrian refuge crisis...?

government doesn't do anything about it?

The government tries but it is so hard. Guangzhou in particular is hard hit by these Africans. They cry racism when the police crack down.

Oh, can people explain for me this situation about "illegal" African American refugees in China?
By through what method is this? Overstay visa? smuggling?

And what is the Chinese are doing to fix it?

And what do they do in the country?

usually overstay visa from countries like Nigeria. we have tried immigration crackdowns but they are like a flood. eventually we may have to stop issuing non-diplomatic visas to certain countries simply because the overstay risk is near 100%.

I am fine with Vietnamese in China. They respect Chinese laws and integrate with Chinese culture. But I am not fine with illegals from certain regions of the world outside East and Southeast Asia coming to China and making demands.

>____< hmm so basically the same tactics as Mexicans in the USA. Laws are laws. Each nations have the right to enforce their laws. Nothing racist about it.

To be honest, the same should apply to the Viets. If the Viets ever cry racist because they broke the laws and get deport and cry racism about it. They should be slap. I don't like the "racism" and "prejudice" charge when it come to things like this. But I understand about assimilation worries. Every countries has that worry including nations in the Middle East, Latin America, and Middle East, and Europe/Australia/USA and Canada.

Multi multiculturalism has its up side but a lot of down sides also. People don't want to talk about it because it is way too political incorrect and being charge with "racism."

When overseas Chinese or Vietnamese commit crimes and the police crack down, do we cry about discrimination? If there is truly unbearable discrimination, we go elsewhere. Vietnam will face the same problem soon from Africans. When the government inevitably bows to popular pressure they will run to Vietnam. Already there are Africans causing trouble there:

Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, and soon to be Yemen.

Refugees of these countries are becoming a problem. I am surprise that Latin America actually step up on the plate and offer to take in some of the refugees.

Syrian refugees in Uruguay protest to leave country - Yahoo News

Of course, then again, we have ungrateful folks like these people. Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, and Egypt are taking the bulk of the refugees right now. But that isn't going to be sustainable, and it seemed a lot will trying to flee to Europe if they had a chance.

There was a chinese article that criticize the American involvement in the Middle East and that Americans are doing more to help these refugees. But this really is a humanitarian problem.

I am under the camp that each countries should decide what best for their citizens first (security risk, economical risk, etc). And if they could, then extend a helping hands. Hence, with country like Israel who wouldn't take in any refugees at all. I actually understand their reasons. But what about Asia and your perspective countries?

India is highly populated and even ended the whole birth right by soil citizenship. Japan had donate some sum of money but not gonna take in anyone. In South East Asia, many countries already struggle with the Myanmar refugees. Do any of your perspective country have the capacity to help or should help at all? Even just a few hundreds? And is there any talk about that in your native language media?

It seemed to me, the Middle East region will only get worst. With Yemen probably the next to fall.

I am asking seriously. Don't troll.

I would say, NO.

Developed countries in East Asia can provide monetary help, though, like Japan's recent pledge.

It is a mess exclusively created by the US-led Wets and it is their moral duty to clean it up.

Anyone slightly involved in it will be quickly swallowed by the swamp. The Middle East is in deep trouble, and it is not just political, but also sectarian. It is going through Europe's Middle Ages.

I am fine with immigrants from the Sinosphere, including Vietnam, Koreas, Japan and others. But the rest should be strictly selective and only the best and brightest must be allowed.

I know China has recently overhauled its expert recruitment program and it is now much much tighter with elevated standards.

The law is the law. If they are broken than they need to pay up. I am all for if other countries deport illegal East Asians if that is what their laws call.

I think Xi should b tougher with these illegals. The bad ones harm societal harmony.

I think Eastern Europe also shares alot of our values, along with Sinosphere countries, Russians and Ukrainians in particular. They are our near abroad.

I am of the opinion that whoever wants to bring in refugees will have to sponsor them financially on their own. That means they must pay for settling the refugees in the country, including the cost for food, shelter and healthcare. Let's see how many of these bleeding heart hypocrites will put their money where their mouths are. I am willing to bet that the numbers would be in the single digits.

I definitely agree. And Russian Orthodoxy is probably the most preferable form of Christianity because their rope is not held by some city-state. hence they do not tend to politicize religious belief.

Other forms of Christianity and Islam, on the other, can easily be politicized, which is a threat to national security.

Of course, the best form of religion is one that is secular.

No citizenship to any non-Chinese. And definitely not Vietnamese, and they have some of the strongest anti-China sentiment in the region.

We already have the biggest migrant burden in the world with 10 million rural folk moving to the cities every single year. Even the biggest infrastructure boom in the history of the Earth is barely enough to keep up with that.

you have no idea what racism is NY friend. u suggest you to visit india. unlike china., caste system is still up and running well.

its sad to see these subhumans are coming in our countries. :(
we have to provide jobs and better living standards to our people first why can't they understand ?
do they merry Chinese girls there ??

lol I understand. I know many Indians here in the US.

Unfortunately, many Africans engage in marriage fraud and try to get residency by marrying Chinese girls. Most Chinese girls do not like Africans harassing them and always asking for their number. Some of the Africans then go rape girls or hire prostitutes. This leads to things like this: Nanjing anti-African protests - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I do not encourage immigration but I do not oppose it either. I think that immigration is OK as long as it does not change Chinese demographics, fill skill gaps or are females married to Chinese males. Besides, if Vietnamese truly hated China, would they do this?

I don't think we should even be thinking about changing immigration policies when there are still hundreds of millions of Chinese people living in rural areas.

These are our own people, they need the absolute number 1 priority.

Chinese people are those who originated from China and are part of the 56 ethnic groups. Any granting of citizenship to foreigners needs to be on an extremely rare and case-by-case basis.

Granted other East Asians will find it easier to assimilate, but they aren't Chinese either. Our own people need first priority.

Not all Chinese will move to the cities. I'm pretty sure it will stabilize at about 70/30 which would still leave 400 million in rural areas. There is no way we can lower our rural population too much and in many areas the government is trying to revitalize villages.

We cannot accept too many immigrants but we are missing out on a chance to fix demographics and to brain gain.

We have to be really careful about changing immigration policies.

Small changes in initial conditions can create huge differences later on.

I don't want to end up like France. America is slightly better, since even when they inevitably become Hispanic-majority, those Hispanics will at least consider themselves "Americans". Whereas those minorities in France have loyalty to somewhere else.

Anyone who becomes a Chinese citizen must have loyalty to China first, no room for doubt.

Other East Asians can at least assimilate though (given enough time). I have doubt that Westerners or Africans can ever assimilate fully, it seems impossible.
