Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, and soon to be Yemen.

Refugees of these countries are becoming a problem. I am surprise that Latin America actually step up on the plate and offer to take in some of the refugees.

Of course, then again, we have ungrateful folks like these people. Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, and Egypt are taking the bulk of the refugees right now. But that isn't going to be sustainable, and it seemed a lot will trying to flee to Europe if they had a chance.

There was a chinese article that criticize the American involvement in the Middle East and that Americans are doing more to help these refugees. But this really is a humanitarian problem.

I am under the camp that each countries should decide what best for their citizens first (security risk, economical risk, etc). And if they could, then extend a helping hands. Hence, with country like Israel who wouldn't take in any refugees at all. I actually understand their reasons. But what about Asia and your perspective countries?

India is highly populated and even ended the whole birth right by soil citizenship. Japan had donate some sum of money but not gonna take in anyone. In South East Asia, many countries already struggle with the Myanmar refugees. Do any of your perspective country have the capacity to help or should help at all? Even just a few hundreds? And is there any talk about that in your native language media?

It seemed to me, the Middle East region will only get worst. With Yemen probably the next to fall.

I am asking seriously. Don't troll.

There are several factors that speak against any successful "Asian" involvement:

1) Many if not most Syrian refugees will have friends or relatives living in one or more European countries already. The refugees are far more willing thus to move to countries where there is a "local" who can help them.

2) Geographically speaking Europe is much closer to the Middle East than the developed Asian countries such as Japan or S. Korea. The reduced distance to Europe is thus another factor attracting Syrian refugees to that direction.

3) The generous welfare system of Northern European countries again attracts refugees who want to make a fresh start in their lives.

The above is not to say that Asian countries could not fly in refugees from Turkey or Lebanon to their respective countries. I am sure many if not most refugees would gladly accept that offer especially in Lebanon where they are living in quite miserable conditions. However even when they are in E. Asia they still might try to use that country only as a platform from which to reach their family, friends and relatives in Europe due to the reasons stated above.

Personally I think China should take in large number of the refugees with open arms.

but after that, I will demand this stunning sculpture shipped from NYC to Shanghai harbour.

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”

always loved that line! it's so poetic. Should be our new national motto.:china:

No. Muslims are trouble makers. No matter how pitiful they look when they come to your hometown. the minute they are settled down and calm down from horror. Oops, religion right!

Let the Europe cope with it. China shall just watch. End of the day, its the western power asking for trouble by poking their fingers in syria and Libya business when they are having much better life under dictator who at least maintain order and stabilities for their people.

China and Russia have long warn them of the consequence.

A US and allies caused this mess. They should clean the mess up. We just watch on the sideline and watch them trip over their heels trying to clean this shit up. In a way, they are causing their own internal strife without us having to lift a finger.

:enjoy:

indeed. if anything, they should be more infuriarated by murica for destroying their home. this is chance for China to take them in, Arm them up, and send them back to murica for their Karma.

also letting the refugees in will raise Pro-China sentiments in most Islamic countries. everything gets better with more alllies.

Keep them out. We already have 400,000 refugees from Myanmar, Vietnam, etc. and almost 1 million illegal Africans. No more change of Chinese demographics.

Vietnam cannot handle the refugees either. Nor can South Korea. Japan may be able to handle them economically but socially it will be a nightmare.

Never knew there were so many Africans illegally in china. Time to deport the illegal ones.

. . .
Almost all the Africans in China are illegals. Deport the lot and then figure out which ones you can allow back. No changing of Chinese demographics.
government doesn't do anything about it?

Oh, can people explain for me this situation about "illegal" African American refugees in China?
By through what method is this? Overstay visa? smuggling?

And what is the Chinese are doing to fix it?

And what do they do in the country?
