Really OIC statement is a shot in the arm.
Not mentioning of kashmir is already a win for India as OIC has always stood with pakistan on kashmir but now it has mentioned nothing.
Shot in the arm, my foot.
Not really , OIC is aware that Jammu and Kashmir state is intergal part of republic of India .
When OIC was formed shortly after the occupation of Palestine after 1967 war . King Faisal of Saudi Arabia wanted India to become member of OIC but even during that time the Pakistan Establishment opposed making Republic of India member of OIC.
King Faisal played a key role in ensuring that India was invited to the conference because the issue being discussed was not a matter concerning only “Muslim countries”, but all Muslims. And, India, with its huge Muslim population, was seen as a stakeholder, apart from the fact that the Indian head of state at that time was a Muslim — Zakir Hussain.
Subsequent developments and the antics of the Pakistani President of the time, Yahya Khan (in refusing to leave his residence until the Indian delegation was no longer invited to meetings), resulted in the exclusion of the Indian delegation from the remaining sessions of the 1969 Islamic Summit Conference. No invitations were extended to India in subsequent years and the domestic political backlash of the Rabat incident persuaded most people in India against the OIC.
It was in this context, in 2006 during a visit to Delhi that Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah suggested that India could obtain an observer status in the OIC like Russia. Pakistan strongly objected to the proposal, and India also did not show interest.
Pakistan doesnt have objection when the Chinese become observer of OIC.
Good news...OIC should recognize India's sensitivities on Kashmir.
OIC is aware of Indian Nation importance with Kashmir because the Islamic world was fighting against colonalism similar like the Indians.
Mahatma Gandhi is always seen as friends of Arabs and Islamic people.
