Why do you assume someone was paying them? Any evidence for this assumption? What I do know is their organization was involved in fighting in Syria and probably looted money there for months if not years, until they advanced into Iraq.

This assumption is not as far fetched as you would have me believe. Every news agency is putting up their income lines leading towards private entities in the middle east and europe. Have we not discussed in a different thread how indian boys were paid for and exported to Iraq with a european donor? When you are trying to sell chaos, then it is unbelievably hard to not have genuine entities + states that are using that stolen money to facilitate in getting needed equipment and food.
