Shipyard at Gawadar approved

Perhaps a building a new facility from scratch is more efficient or expediënt than modernizing the existing yard. Also, at Gwadar, there are fewer pryhing eyes (so it could be easier to e.g. receive Chinese navy vessels). Arms deals with China may involve other 'currency' than money.

A new navy base should be made in Gawadar.

Sounds great. I hope to see the building of frigates there.

I think Gwadar should not be stopped there as they should build ports with Mega Ship Yards from Jiwani to Hub. Like in all of the Balochistan.

Bangladesh has a bigger ship yards then Pakistan.

It is time we built a big state of the art facility. the facility in Karachi is getting to cramped and to close to the enemy for our liking.

Secondly we MUST absolutely must move our oil storage depots to gawadar away from an easy naval attack by the enemy forces.

While not denying the need for a state of the art facility at Gawadar, I would say that our resource constrained environment will not allow us to close established facilities at Karachi. The problem with rapid expansion is that once works runs out we will not have anything to do for our shipyards. In UK there has been mass closure of multiple shipyards and iron works facilities for various reasons and this is not a good situation to be in both for the country and the labour force that works there. There needs to be a comprehensive plan to modernize our civilian as well as military fleet of vessels as we still do 90+% of our freighting via sea. This will give our shipyards enough work to do for the foreseeable future rather than working on military platforms only. We need to utilize as much of our existing facilities as we can for dual use technology. Only then can we develop and progress further.
