Shinzo Abe in Gujarat today: Bullet train foundation to be laid

even after they ruined haryana economy to lowest growth in past few decade.

gujrat is 5 times bigger . many folds populated. has sea, falls between mumbai delhi, river and tourism. which is not there in haryana.

...Modi is a Gujju, a loved Gujju by all...(well most of the Pop.) you are forgetting it.

And most of the corporate friends of Modi are from Gujarat St. India, the likes of Adanis, the Jindals, and big bania industrialists from Gujarat...take the Sabramati river project or the first smart city in India near Ahmedabad, called GIFT city...

Bullet train not a common man's dream: Sena:

"We are getting a bullet train without asking for it. We do not know exactly which problem will this problem solve,"

"(Former Prime Minister) Pandit (Jawaharlal) Nehru laid the foundation of several projects, from Bhakra Nangal to Bhaba Atomic Research Centre, to ensure the country advances in technology and science. All these projects were needed for the nation. Does this bullet train fit into the needs of the country?"

Did common man of India ask for this?
No.

I believe to attract traffic and compete with airplanes, the price per km will be have to less than 5 rupees.
(price of second class on Beijing-Shanghai HSR is 4 rupees per km)

For 500km (>300km/h), 3000-5000 rupees is too expensive.
I would pay less than 3 rupees per km if the train's speed is 250kmh (total travel time 2.5-3 hours)

Although a formal fare structure is yet to be finalised, it is expected to be 1.5 times the first class AC fare of trains running on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, according to the Hindustan Times report. Currently, the 1AC fare ranges between Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,000. Thus, the fare structure for the bullet train is expected to be anywhere between Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000.

I do not understand the need for so expensive bullet trains in India. If you have to travel from Ahmadabad to mumbai just take the flight it will be much cheaper and convenient. Who will pay 4000-5000 ₹ for this travel when you can just travel by paying 2000-3000₹ in flights.
Indian railway is just looting passengers now a days in name of tejas, gatimaan while there is no actual increase in gati or maan.
Moreover it's a gift to gujrat rather than india. Modi welcomes world dignitaries in gujrat rather than Delhi as if ahemdabad is capital of india.

Modi knows why he got into this Shinkansen and for what.
Sole purpose was Gujarati Pride, his native place.

And here, Modi's media managers are busy in chorus with orchestra maestro Modi. Playing the chorus of zero interest. And as if that is not enough, look at the headlines which say it is a gift - instead of a loan.
'Big gift from Japan to India': PM Modi, Shinzo Abe launch Mumbai ..

A gift?
Don't worry, it is Mukesh Ambani's media = Just acquired Hindustan Times.

Actually the sum and substance of this deal is that, the Japanese companies are making killing profits with more than 100% profit. The profit numbers are already incorporated, included & integrated into the deal. India has been fleeced - zero % interest notwithstanding, which is a misnomer or a willful yet cunning tomfoolery from the Japanese government.

Modi already knew the price of Bullet train from Japan is exorbitant when compared to China who is 35% cheaper.

Japan fleeced India - Modi fooled non Gujaratis.
His mission accomplished!

Bullet train is about technology transforming society. Do we need cell phones, computers and airplanes as a society, no. But we are better because of it. Bullet train is about a transportation platform, it's up to Indians to build it. If Indians can digest the technology and build the infrastructure efficiently across India 10 years from now, then it's a success. Is the Japanese tech the way to go, that's up to debate which is sorely lacking in India?

Well first of all this is first time in its more than half a century old history that famed Japanese Shinkansen will run outside Japan as and when it happens.
not the first time, but the second. the first belongs to Taiwan. as of how it works in Taiwan, you have to ask Taiwanese.

1.3 billions are currently benefiting from british era rail system in your country, how about you spend this money to upgrade them for increase speed and security so hundreds dont lose their lives every year instead of this show off which benefit section of your country.

anyways i am out dont quote me again, its your money, whether you spend it on moon or slums, its non of my concern,
i agree but problem is that money which japan is giving almost no interest wont come if there is no bullet train project so unless u can negotiate with japan on our behalf to give the same amount with same interest for the above said we will continue with bullet train. damn that wasnt difficult to explain i hope now we are on the same page

As usual barbinder moodi takes a great idea and ruins it. Bombay to Delhi makes perfect sense and is, in fact, necessary. What does barbinder do? He takes the line to irrelevant ahmadabad.
mum----> delhi is atleast 3-4 times more distance = 17 bill *3-4? and lots more time ?

i agree with most saying that there are more important things than bullet train but why u guys are forgetting japan is not giving money for anything its coming for bullet train and bullet train only that investment will not come if there is no project it will create 1000s of jobs + industrial base as well as human resource development. what other corridors u think are possible 400-500 kms only and also take in consideration the support of state govt. to modi govt.(land acquisition etc) while deciding that corridor
