I find it unfortunate the way shias and sunnis are divided in Lucknow. My cousins have talked about shias negatively and of the fact that they vote for the BJP. We have to work in unison if we have to beat back the wolf named India. India does not ask whether you are shia or sunni when killing Kashmiris. It did not ask whether we were shia or sunni when partaking in the Gujarat and Mumbai riots. We are all the same for them.

I view shias as my brothers and have no hatred against them. I have infact come to their defence numerous times but falling for the Indian honey-trap is a major fault which could lead to the destruction, the complete destruction of muslims.

They are progressive and also has deep hatred against Sunnis although you won't find public statement from them. Besides, Shias are more comfortable with Hindus. But, still India's Muslims are 70% or more Sunni. Ahmediyas and Shias (Bohra/Ismaeli and other sects included) are micro sized enemies if Sunni Muslims wanted to take revenge.

Recently, Kashmiri Shia merchants opened a small masjid in Cochin, Kerala and the local Sunnis tried their best to stop this.

Look we need to unite rather than divide. I have always spoken against Saudi and its support for Wahabism which is driving a wedge between shia and sunni. I as a sunni deeply respect my shia countrymen. Its mostly the shias being killed by LEJ in Pakistan and Taliban. You guys are the main victims and I not only acknowledge this but want it to stop-Now. Almost all terror acts are committed by sunnis so we have a great problem.

But the divisions in Lucknow are problematic. They force us to fight amongst each other when there is a far greater Indian threat. They do not see shia or sunni when they kidnap our youth and try to frame them as terrorists. Lets unite, not divide. Lets work together for freeing the land of our forefathers and merging it with Pakistan. Such a victory is a national victory for Pakistan-not a victory for shia or sunni.

It is matter of sectarian. I advocate against sectarian violence all the times [KSA/Iran]. That being said, i am not really expert on Islam. The more i read into the controversial stuff like Sunni-Shia, KSA-Iran, Wahabi-Salafi,...etc, the more i get confused. Hence staying away from this topic.

Regarding Modi, he is allegedly genocider. That is different. It is against the spirit of humanity codes. Yet he was rewarded with leadership instead of punishment. Apple=orange.

tell it to those who do not know the dynamics of Lucknow. Half my family is from Lucknow !! by the way Sunni maulvis are not oppressed but are treated as Pariah !!
Others@ please note that " Sunnis " here refers to Hardline Sunni Mualvis and their rabid followers. !! Common Shia -Sunni group do not have much difference.

he @haviZsultan is a sunni muslim with roots in Lucknow ( an judging by his behavior might be a follower of firangi mahal or some other hard line group) . Now Muslim dynamics of Lucknow is very interesting in nature. The culture and demography of old Lucknow is shia in nature. the Nawabs of Lucknow were also shia so the influence of the Shiasm was quite strong on the culture and traditions. Now due to various reasons Shias are always closer to mainstream and Hindus and since historical times there was any Hindu Muslim riots. at the same time clashes b/w Shia and hardliner sunni group is very much common .. specially during Muharram Mourning. ( trivia : in Lucknow Muharram is observed for 68 days !!! ). I had some very hilarious videos of Shia Clerics mocking hardliner Sunni and wahabis !!
So it is not surprising that @haviZsultan is behaving a bit strangely than usual !
