SHC dismisses MQM appeal against delimitation of Karachi constituencies

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) dismissed Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) appeal against the delimitation of 11 new constituencies in Karachi on Tuesday, Express News reported.
The SHC said that the decision to redraw new constituencies was given by the Supreme Court and it cannot interfere in the decisions taken by Supreme Court.
In March, the larger bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan had given authority to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to carry out delimitation procedures wherever it found that creating new constituencies were necessary.
A few days later, the ECP issued a notification for delimitation of three constituencies of National Assembly and eight constituencies of the Provincial Assembly.
MQM Chief Altaf Hussain had termed the delimitation of Karachi constituencies a strategy to harm the MQM’s vote bank.

no worries MQM will still win guranteed 20 seats. so MQM ko koi masla nahi. AAJ to Imran also didn't say anything against MQM. clearly PML N & PTI have gone quiet on MQM. shows that everyone is ready to sit with MQM as allies.

MQM claims the throne of karachi then why they are crying on the delimitation, whatever will be the limitation of the constituencies if MQM really rule the hearts of people they will win, but now they have foreseen their defeat and vowing for no reason

if you try to make conspiracies to divide the voters because of one specific party and expose your malicious intent, and that action also goes against the legal rules then mere bhi if such thing happens for instance in lahore where the delimitation is done on ethnic bases just to cut the vote bank of one specific party?

the delimitations were mde on only those seats where MQM is slightly vulnerable like NA250 etc
