Sharad Yadav comments on skin, body of south Indian women in Rajya Sabha

Sri Lankans in general are darker than Indians and Pakistani's because they live in the tropics.... But that also depends on the Ethnicity.. Most of you guys from Britain, Europe and Canada are more likely to come across Sri Lankans of Tamil origin.. Because they are the largest diaspora out there, Except for Australia, Where Sinhalese and other communities out number.. Tamils are quite a bit darker than Sinhalese, Moors, Burghers or Malays.. Obviously due to their genetics.. But that's not to say all Tamils are dark either.. So people who have never set foot on the island tend to generalize the people

Anyway.. If any Europeans would be reading this, They are probably laughing their arses off

You also missed the most important point.

The living standards of so called death to dark Sri lankans are a country mile ahead of Pakistan and India. Hell even 'darkie' South India is one of the better off regions in South Asia.

@Gibbs I have honestly seen more racism here than in a lot of the forums inhabited by Europeans sometimes.

They divided it(our country) on the basis of caste, religion and now skin colour.
I seriously think south India should be separated from the rest of India if North Indians think south India is not a part of India.

That was uncalled for @levina chechi :( Being a mallu myself who've spent most of my life in north and west india have never felt any discrimination on the basis of skin color .If country were to be divided on remarks by politicians it would've hapenned long ago

Edit : Saw many apoligies from you after the post , don't apologize to me just sharing my experience :P

True bro.. I find it hilarious that South Asians in these forums are ready to scream racist blue murder at a drop of a hat against any Western source they deem even minutely bruise their inflated ego's.. While they themselves are the most racist casteist people you can find, More of then than not towards their own people.. I dont think we can even call that racism, There needs to be a new definition for that kind of vile prejudice..

Dont knoww about present condition.
But Punjabis and majority NI had these mindset in earlier decades.According to my experience new gen dont have that problem.Perhaps due to our new lifestyle ,social media and education campaign.
But now a days I can see same retardness among our own keralites .Some people in here have prejudice towards Bengalis ,Bihari labourers.I have heard that in some instance when some people talked about those poor labourers with som racist taste by pointing about their looks, languages, lifestyles etc.You can see the prejudice in anywhere

I think to an extent you're right that we Indians and Pakistanis 're more racist than the Europeans, that includes me too.
I can remember atleast 2 such incidents where the racist in me showed up at the most unexpected times.
The first incident that I remember was when I was waiting for a lift at a mall. My jaw dropped when I saw the darkest man (very very dark man) with the fairest woman. I was like :o:. I kept wondering how could she like a man who was so dark. And it was then that I realised that I had embarrassed the couple with my reaction.
My conclusion was that to a woman it comes easy to make compromises, a woman would choose a man with a golden heart over a man with good looks. Yeah I was sure!
Then one day I met another couple, the man looked European and the woman looked Ethyopian, I'm sure this time I wasn't staring at 'em.
Ravi, I still can't tell you how weird my reactions were when I saw these 2 couples, and frankly am embarrassed.
I wish I could say sorry to 'em. :(
But I think I'm not as racist as @Armstrong; this kashmiri cartoon thinks of himself as a hunk. :laughcry:

Dream on lil bro! :coffee:
I would never apologise to you. I still think that if ppl in North think that South Indians 're an inferior lot then our country should be divided into two.
I've not faced any discrimination in North, but I 've sensed a strong ingrained sense of superiority among the North Indians, be it on the basis of their culture, the way they dress (South Indians 're "lungi ppl" to 'em ) or skin color.
Btw at this point I must also tell you that I've seen a lot sardars and Biharis being taunted by others for similar reasons. And the same applies to North easterners.
So yeah, to us Indians bonding with others doesn't come easy, but I see a lot of improvement now. Lol
Albeit i'm sanguine that in the future these subtle differences won't be a big issue, and that India would remain united forever :P

Oh you're definitely much.....MUCH.....much more racist than I am; 'cause I've never stared at dark complexioned people or think 'why oh why ?' about dark-fair couples ! :o:

Besides tis true that North Indians are indeed superior to South Indians !

Actually I've seen it many times; a few times here in Pakistan and sometimes abroad. I just never really cared to have an opinion on that ! :victory1:

this sharad yadav dosent know that a dark coloured biharis works as mousambi juice sellers and panipoori vendors on the foot paths of south indian cities, dark coloured bihari women dig trenches for laying cables in hyderabad, bangalore, and chinnai, these dark coloured people from north india do manial jobs in southern cities, ther are many biharis with dark skin working in south indian tea gardens and farms any one would mistake them as madrasis, instead of getting jobs in bihar he speaks too much, i have roamed all over north india and i have seen women who are as dark as charcoal, in bihar and up, and a person who does know india beyond bihar is a half baked pot, north indian s like devika rani, hema malini, rekha, deepika padukone, aishvarya rai, vidya balan, bipasha basu, many more

. . . . .
The Gujarati Muslims I know in the UK aren't black but quite fair, they said Gujju Hindus are also fair. There is a Petrol station owned by a Sinhalese family and they are dark as death.
hindus are generally darker in India compared to muslims... in some place the contrast is so clear.. (hyderabad) and some place not much difference...
somebody needs to explain to me why muslims are generally fairer in India...
