Shahid Afridi to become T20 captain

Shahid Afridi all set to be named Twenty20 captain - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

I think he should replace Misbah if he fails to deliver vs Aus and NZ this year. He can be test cricket if he wants.


We really need an aggressor. If im not wrong Afridi led us to semi finals of 2011 cup. We lost to India, one because tendulkar catches were dropped until Afridi finally caught it. Reaching the cup was big boost considering we came out of those match fixing.

Misbah is good player but I don't see him very active in his captaincy. Tendulkar was excellent player but he wasn't captain for a reason.

I think Shahid Afridi is the right choice at the moment. At the same time, it is simply important to identify couple of players who could be made captain once S.Afridi retires. The management needs to identify players who have the potential to lead in the future, and the grooming needs to start now.
