Shahed-136 - Tracking usage & expanding understanding.

True, and there is also a possible chance that those Russian airforce cargo planes that arrived in Yazd province were loaded with Su-35s, the ones Egypt didnt want.
Wouldn't they simply fly the aircraft to the destination rather than take them apart and load them on another plane.

Regardless I doubt Russia offered anything besides money for the drones and (still unconfirmed) missiles. I'll believe it when I see it.

I found this......

.....I quite liked it.
Not technically accurate of course as the ukraine isnt formally a part of nato.....yet.
But it does look good. :enjoy:

Shahid 136 has knocked out 35% of power in Ukraine

they maybe shooting them down but many are getting through

much much cheaper than Kaliber cruise missile or any other Russian cruise missile or even ballistic missiles or Iskander

Russia basically saving millions by using Iran drone
That's also way less powerful than cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.

. . . .
They don't fill the same job, a cruise missile hits a bunker and there's no more bunker, your drone hits a bunker and there's no more drone

Well then you're comparing apples and oranges. Why would you use a bunker busting missile to take out electric grids and air defences, when you can use a drone which is more than ample for the job?! Yet another daft comment by you!

American intelligence obtained/assembled a model of the Iranian Shahed-136 explosive drone. The goal: to develop a weapon system against it. A special American headquarters for this mission operates from Kiev

Oct 22, 2022 @ 11:00 p.m

Several American intelligence sources report, on Saturday 10/22, that the American intelligence is now working in a top effort to obtain a model of the Iranian Shahed -136 explosive drone, with the aim of developing a weapon system against it.
'Obtaining the model of the Iranian drone is now a top priority of the intelligence' , said a senior American source. He added that parts of such Iranian drones that were shot down in Ukraine have already arrived in the United States and experts are already engaged in examining them.
The American official refused to say whether it was possible to assemble a complete or almost complete drone from these parts. Other American sources alluded to the possibility that American intelligence had recently managed to bring an entire explosive Iranian drone from one of the Mediterranean countries. The sources refused to confirm or deny this information and also refrained from naming the country from which the model was brought to the United States.
Because a special American headquarters that coordinates the operations to obtain the information about Shahed-136 operates from the United States Embassy in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The headquarters is headed by a one-star army general, and that parts of the Iranian drone that was shot down in Ukraine are being flown to the United States on a daily basis.
Our sources also indicate that the acquisition of a model of the drone by the United States was received in the last two weeks A top priority after it became clear that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the purchase and operation of thousands of such explosive drones from Iran and use them with the aim of destroying Ukrainian military and strategic infrastructure such as power plants, water plants, and road and railway networks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday, that the recent Russian drone and missile attacks have resulted in approximately 30 percent of Ukrainian electricity production capacity being damaged and that large parts of Ukraine have been left without electricity. Considering that the approaching winter period, which is a very cold period in Ukraine where temperatures drop well below zero, a lack of electricity can become a factor Influential in the war.
The American intelligence sources added and said that their goal is to develop a means or a weapon system that will shoot down the exploding Iranian drones even before they reach their designated targets.
One of the options being tested is to shoot down these drones or cause them to explode while they are in the air by means of cyber warfare.
The military sources of Tekdeka indicate that in order to achieve such a goal, the Americans need to penetrate and take control of the Iranian-Russian launch systems.
On December 5, 2011, 11 years ago, the Iranians, with the help of Chinese intelligence and cyber experts, succeeded in taking over the satellite communication channels of the secret American drone RQ-170U and landing it intact and unharmed at an Iranian air base near the northeastern city of Kashmar. An Iranian success -This Chinese is still considered one of the biggest American intelligence failures.
Today you can find parts/traces of the RQ-170 in the exploding UAV Shahed Shahed-136.

It's less powerful, but if you use a missile to do something that can do Shahed-136, then you are wasting money.

You're saying "Oh Iranian drones are so much better" but they don't fill the same roles.

That article says the US got a hold of an intact Shahed-136 drone and is looking for exploits to counter it.

Yeah, I agree about that statement.

Yeah, I agree about that statement.

Theyre not supposed to fill the same role but they have proven to be more effective in the Russian war effort than whatever Russia has mustered thus far.

I take it as a compliment that US wants to reverse engineer our drones lol

Amirabdollahian once again categorically dismissed those accusations, saying that Iran has not given and will not give Russia any weaponry and drones to use in Ukraine.

He said that Iran and Russia have cooperation in different fields including in defense. “In the past we have taken weapons from Russia and given it weapons as well, but not during the Ukraine war.”
