Yes drones can be shot down, but they're cheap, expendable and saturation attacks can overwhelm even the most advanced air defense platforms. And when you have drones attacking and destroying expensive air defense platforms, then you have a huge problem on your hands.

Demonization purposes probably, again most people thinks Iranian weapon = forcibly crap without going any further

There are probably more MQ-1 and MQ-9 and Wing long shot down than Shahed-129 but again, those drones are not very hard to shut down with actual decent SAM batteries

They wanted a reason to put sanctions on Iran they got it. Iran is not that strong as Russia because of lack of technology.

Any ucav can get shot down sure, Iranian ones too, but what's the problem? Each month we get houthis shutting down saudi, israeli drones got shot down many times inside iran, Pakistan if i remember intercepted an Iranian drone (showcased above) going mistakenly on its airspace using their fighter jets, i mean every month you get that kind of drone shot down in whole west asia

The point is they are extremely cheap. Shooting them down must be cost effective. THAT is fundamentally against the west's 'high quality = high expense' approach to arms. Not clear which western manufacturer has the ability or the incentive to produce a device that fits the bill. It is fundamentally antithetical to their business. THAT is the problem.
