The National Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution demanding the government to declare drought-hit areas of Balochistan and Sindh as calamity-hit areas

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jan, 2019 ) :The National Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution demanding the government to declare drought-hit areas of Balochistanand Sindh as calamity-hit areas.

The resolution was moved by State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan.

Speaking on the occasion the minister said 18 districts of Balochistan and 08 districts of Sindh were enduring severe drought conditions.

Some people have lost their lives due to drought, the resolution said adding that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMas) were providing relief items to the people of drought-hit areas.

He said a National Consultative Workshop was being organized for providing assistance topeople of drought-hit areas of Balochistan and Sindh. The international donors were being invitedto attend the workshop.

Stupid NA...how about declaring those districts as mismanaged for the past 3 decades and punishing the culprits?

Water shortage is a very serious problem in balochistan . Mastung is already drained people are migrating, quetta is draining too.
One cannot ignore it on the excuse of low population over there , our future generations have to settle there .
