Havi jee, these militants still get off easy i.e. just bullets or bayonets. To kill such insurgencies you have to put the fear of God into them. Until they are not recorded being fed alive to crocodiles, torn apart with tractors etc ,they'll continue to do what they do. It's gone well past the time to go Genghis Khan on them.

They come close to the borer, attack, and run back to their caves. Standard SOP's suggest that we cannot chase them down as they are in Afghan territory.

But if you look at this from a strategic purpose, look how degraded they are? Compare the ferocity of their attacks from 2010 to now. We have literally broken their backs, that they are only capable of harassing PA's posts and not launching full out assaults like they used to in 2010.

Iran India nor America would make such an excuse. They would chase them and kill as many of them as possibly. This is exactly how I feel. We have become excuse makers and apologists of extremists. I want terrorism to end in my country. America has drone strikes for militants in Pakistan. Iran chases militants from our territory and India would clearly have the same response under modi. So lets not blame others and see what we have done. NAP was used mostly to arrest criminals and the severe action promised against militants under the new death penalty is insufficient too. In fact more criminals have been hanged than terrorists.

If Pakistan military had real balls they could have minned and fenced the border like how indians r doing in LOC or Israelis have done in west bank. But then again our military is basically afraid of Panchery Militia called ANA.

However posting death of these soldiers when you and I know they are drawing pleasure behind the facade of reporting is halal? Is this not in bad form and far worse then anything I post? These men have families and don't deserve Indian's salivating over their deaths and that on a Pakistani defence forum?

And on topic the FC needs lot more investment in training and equipment. Standards must be brought up to regular army. FC face the same danger as PA. They take the same bullets as PA. They bleed like PA.

So why not same investment?

Agreed. However the strongpoints can be designed to be more robust and be able to afford better protection then those "stone and sticks" contraptions that are used at present.

True. Our soldiers deserve better protection. These areas have just recently been cleared of TTP. Army is mostly working inland to clear towns, villages and valleys. They are also undertaking mammoth task of rebuilding infrastructure and resettling IDPs. Border posts have been given to FC for the time being. FC, although much improved now, lacks better equipment and protection. They are also not as well trained as regulars. So at the moment focus is not at the border posts. Hopefully it will be shifted there gradually. Before that happens, army also needs to come up with cantonments in FATA (small and medium size) to support border posts network. One can not just start building posts in abyss without second line of support that protects their rear and a base for supplies, ammunition and troops rotation.
