The question is why is there even a need for Irfan Baloch, my Baloch brother to be apologetic in his approach to us or sympathetic-seeing us as some becharas. The reason is we muhajirs have caused the situation ourselves. Playing the victim card has become our creed despite the fact that we dominate the country.please spare me the victim Mohajir card. our founder is a mohajir even our Prophet PBUH is a Mohajir.. dont be sad or bitter about it. wear this badge with pride. I have grown among Mohajirs as well. there is a sizeable Urdu speaking community in Quetta in case you dont know. our military chiefs have been from Mohajir/ Urdu speaking community, people who doubt this community should eat their own hats.
I pity those who call Mohajirs traitors thier own forefathers sold their souls and people for the lands and title from the British raj. but dont be upset about "Pakistan being a blunder" jibe because whoever says that deserves to be called all deserving names and there is nothing racist about it.
I am what people would call a muhajir since some of my folk migrated from Lucknow with some pashtun links and I say clearly. We are the ones who brought violence to Karachi, we asked for extra rights when we had more than extra rights-controlling the cities of Sindh while the Sindhi is in a cycle of poverty-we kicked the Sindhis our of karachi, they were 60% in Karachi when Pakistan was made and are now barely 8%. So I ask again? What is the problem with us that we cannot live peacefully with other ethnic groups much less respect people, people like the Baloch who left homes to give us sanctuary in Quetta.
My point is Irfan, don't be apologetic. We muhajirs have more than extra rights in Pakistan. As a person from Lucknow I can easily say what a boon the becoming of Pakistan was for us, yet we fail to grasp the importance of unity in the country. Pakistan being a blunder is what Altaf Hussain said. Yet despite his anti Pakistani attitude he is allowed to spew venom against the founders, army and other people of Pakistan. if muhajirs were worse than somalians or CAR residents then we would fully be deserving of it. But that is the crux of the matter, is it not? We are at the top but the victimhood in us ensures that we keep looking at ourselves as oppressed. Claiming oppression and demanding more is just a card when it comes to ethnicities. To demand more from the center.
For me the Baloch, Sindhi or Punjabi or any other ethnicty is my brother. We must abandon our ethnic depravity. Muhajirs are by far the most ethnically charged people in Pakistan. They do not understand the diversity and beauty of the country
