ISLAMABAD: The Federal Secretary Aviation and Director General Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, Shahrukh Nusrat has said it has been decided to upgrade seven big airports of the country to the international level.

While addressing airports managers’ conference at Islamabad Airport the other day, he issued the direction that problems of the passengers should be solved forthwith on all the airports.

He also directed the airport managers to make arrangements amicably for the Hajj flights which will commence from July 5, 2019 and maximum facilities should be provided to the Haj pilgrims to avoid any hardships in performing Hajj.

Shahrukh Nusrat also issued directions to the airport officials to arrest unauthorised persons and take emergency steps to remove them from the airports of the Civil Aviation Authority.

He said the aviation sector would be designed in accordance with the new policy in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Federal Secretary Aviation Shahrukh Nusrat was addressing managers of airports of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad.

stupidity rather he should worry about 7 new international airports for 7 regions
gawader - muzzafar abad - mir pur khas -bannu or DIkhan - gilgit or baltistan - saidu sharif .

so many people in Pakistan travel hundreds of kms to reach an international airport .

Karachi (Much need build a new Terminal)

Lahore (already upgradation underway car parking of 4500 cars almost finished time to work on terminal building)

Quetta (just recently upgraded and already planned fir secondary runway so what's new they gonna add up)

Multan (similar terminal building is not so old runway upgradation planned)

Faisalabad (Terminal building recently upgraded by last Government runway upgradation planned)

So it's gonna be just runways upgradation and secondary runway construction

They need to upgrade Hyderabad airport too. It has both military and economic significance.
so true it will significantly reduce pressure on Karachi airport, further i dont understand why govt dont reduce price on domestic travels as it will help economy so much.

It's good news, but what we really need is an Airport in Mirpur AJK. It would divert 90% of UK flights to it...lol

Perhaps, they are planning to build smoking area and stop snatching lighters to bring these airports one step closer to international standards?

So just a couple of signs and its done i guess then?

Soon enough ghost airports will start appearing in the country as money launderers and majboor awam looks for ways out of the tyranny of taxation.

Well, I don't have problem with declaring currency but the frustration of having cigarettes but no lighter is something which only a smoker can understand :(, it's more annoying that it's not because somehow our officials become health conscious at airports, they do it so that they can make as much money as possible.
