PA is loosing many precious highly trained soldiers because of these terrorist activities.

I think PA should revise their strategy of patrolling along the border area.

Monitoring should be via aerial using small light weight copter drones. Where aerial coverage is not possible due to high wind, physical patrolling should be done using remote control unmanned armed vehicles and lastly if both cannot be used due terrain then MRAPs should be deployed. Soldiers leaving the vehicle must wear bomb disposal suit

Operating cost and maintenance cost for these equipment is far less than loosing a precious lives.

They should do it on war footing.

I have no first-hand knowledge or source on why these incidents are happening, but here goes my attempt at pondering on it: Question is will MRAPs solve the underlying issue - the fact that those devices are already under the road along the patrol route/the Ts occupy the heights to ambush patrols and have accurate knowledge of patrol timings and route. That is the core issue, MRAPs may manage the issue by limiting casualties but they won't resolve the issue. Where is the material coming from? Are the devices made across the border or within? The Ts that plant the devices, do they infiltrate and infiltrate across the border or from inside KPK? If the former, what routes are being used? If the latter, then how do we go about dealing with it? Are we afraid of exposing a connection between a certain political propaganda entity and those Ts across the border, if intel is intensified?

These are just some questions I can immediately think of, that I feel we as members should focus on. In fact, I think this would be more cost effective as a method to resolve the issue than MRAPs would, though MRAPs should be deployed in hot spots and areas which are badly affected. Also, it may just be due to the ambiguity of the situation, that these incidents are dying flames of a despicable ideology that once pervaded KPK?

From what some members in the know have mentioned, not all casualties or even news may be as they appear, the army is taking action but making very little noise. Regardless, just because civilian casualties have reduced by substantial margins doesn't mean that the general public doesn't care about its brave guardians manning the borders - a little update from time to time without revealing operational details could also do wonders for public morale.

core issue will take time, once the afghan govt is no longer hostile the network will start breaking
but in mean time they need to focus on drone patrol and MRAPs

IED......The amount of times us folks have written this on this forum, in relation to a brother's death is countless.
Another life lost and the absence of protected vehicles continues.

Rest well in the afterlife my brother, Allah bless you.
I think it was foot patrol but Ur point is right don't know when they will listen? With protected vehicle IED related casualties will be less than half
