Senegal is the country that moved the recent resolution resolution against Israel in the UN and Israel has dropped the aid it was previously providing to Senegal and the country is going out of Israel and Indian trap so they will be buying arms from Pakistan now. They are main customers of small arms like MANPADs anti tank missiles and MTB tanks but might go for JF-17 or K-8 type platforms.

We don't have to have customers from every part of the world or provide weaponry to everyone. It is better to manufacture weaponry for our allies (the US/UK/EU/Russia) than to engage in trade with some far off nation from whom we have been rescued. Ideally we don't want to sell weaponry but tools and instruments which will help us to beautify and make gentle and good the people (in body and spirit).

Well I can understand your concerns but the world is a messy place. The rule which world follows is you need to kill to survive. Currently USA is looking to develop Africa as a competitor against China for the manufacturing industry. USA will shift most of development factories in Africa and try to move from that direction but in the mean time USA also wants to change the political picture of Africa and these countries need these weapons to defend them selves from the political change which US intends to bring in these countries and Pakistan has to play a role in fabricating Africa to a friendly environment.

Strangely , while reviewing the country of Senegal I learned
They have some form of Wrestling (Ancient wrestling)

Thought how interesting it was to see similar Wrestling concept also quite popular in Pakistan today

(Obviously these are "not wwe wrestling" but real combat)


Certainly look forward to development of cultural and defence ties with Senegal nation

Certainly the warrior spirit ties the friendly nations of Senegal / Pakistan and we can only solidify things further with JF17 sale

Defence article sales are quite common occurance in world, selling defence article to another sovreign nation does not means you are not focusing on your own national defence.

As stated before , Sales of defence article between 2 sovreign states are of no concern to any third party.

Pakistan even purchases items from world wide strategic partners

A strong centeralized army/military does plays a vital role in any nation's self interest

If you have personal views about who should and should not be supplied these are of course your own personal views , which obviously could be articulated a bit differently (You have certain right to defend your views)

From Pakistan's prespective our Government deals with Governments we recognize on National Level as Sovreign nations of world and of course that involves the process of official recognizing their status in UN


Nigera as we know is in fight against Terrorism similar to one we face from Afghan rouge areas , so it makes logical sense we share out knowledge and experience , and weapons system

The Senegalese Air Force’s (SAF) Chief of Air Staff, Brigadier General Birame Diop, expressed his interest in building bilateral ties with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), the Associated Press of Pakistan reports.

During his visit to Pakistan, Brig. Gen Diop met with the PAF Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Sohail Aman as well as other PAF officials, including the Chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), Air Marshal Arshad Malik. The PAF offered its full support in training and capacity building to the SAF.

Brig. Gen Diop also met with Pakistan’s Minister of Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain.

Notes & Comments:

The PAF and PAC will likely be interested in marketing the JF-17 multi-role fighter, which is co-produced by PAC and the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), to Senegal. With its recent order of three JF-17s to Nigeria, PAC entered the African defence market, and AVIC/PAC may sense an opportunity to expand. Besides follow-on orders from Nigeria, sales in Sudan, Namibia, Angola, Kenya and Senegal may be on the marketing roadmap.

Senegal has three Embraer EMB-314 Super Tucano, a turboprop-powered light combat aircraft, on order for its fixed-wing air combat fleet. In the short-term, the Super Tucano will form the entirety of the SAF’s fighter force. While an attractive counterinsurgency (COIN) and light attack platform, the EMB-314 will not assume the role of a full-fledged multi-role fighter; but it is not known if Senegal is interested in a fast jet solution akin to the JF-17 (or another platform).

PAC could also be marketing the MFI-395 Super Mushshak basic training and screener aircraft, which has seen success in 2016 thanks to sales in Qatar, Nigeria and Turkey. Paired with PAF training support – in Senegal and in Pakistan – the Super Mushshak may have a reasonable chance of a sale in Senegal.
