Well just how exactly did they manage to catch that stealth drone on radar? NATO has had crossed our borders many times and we failed miserably. Iran's military response is faster in my opinion... good or bad Weapons won't make a difference. Just look at the Taliban. LOL

Pakistanis have very small brain i think - They want to attack NATO knowing fully well that it can convert Pakistan into Iraq in matter of days.In fact just think maybe NATO is just trying to find a excuse to do that..Sure it's 24 soldiers life is huge loss but keep in mind if you are fighting war you have to take casualties loosing few battles to win the war is not a bad proposition.

A very good point. The attack on our troops in some ways can be considered a bait.

To Fatman's point as to what is different this time around vs. the PAF role in Russian-Afghan war, the biggest issue is that we do not have the backing of a superpower in the current stand-off. During the 80s, the Americans had promised, for what it was worth, that in case of a Soviet military expansion into Pakistan, the US would intervene militarily on behalf of Pakistan. Well good luck trying to find someone to fill those shoes this time around.

We should register our protests in whatever way possible for us, but a military confrontation with the ISAF/NATO is not advisable. Until 2014, we will continue to take casualties of this sort or maybe even beyond. This will only be stopped with some sort of an understanding through talks. Militarily, the more pressure is piled on Pakistan, the more instability within Pakistan which in turn would make the instability in Afghanistan look like a minor issue.

Lastly, this problem cannot be resolved by the PAF action. Whatever the PAF is told to do, they will do, but if people think that with people dying on both sides, this issue will stop with some PAF intervention, they are wrong!

I think the way that Pakistan responded by closing the NATO supplies was the right thing to do, and should apporch the problem in diplomatic ways.

Current cost of getting a gallon of fuel to NATO forces in Afghanistan have quadrupled due to our closing of the route.
You may not be fighting back with guns and ammo, but you are choking them economically..where it hurts them the most.

nope its not its mean there choppers are free to fly over whole world ? i totally disagree with it this mentality we teach them that they are GODs on earth they can do whatever. now they are not bloody single super power on earth .

Its just funny. Russia broke its so called 'super power' just by losing bits of territories.. The U.S on the other hand has lost many wars and and has failed economically and yet again people around the world say they are a 'super power'. They can't even feed their own poor but people will assume they will feed the people of Africa. LOL. Will you call U.S a super power because of its military power? Look around, there are many countries equivalent to them. i.e Russia, China, France.

People have watching Hollywood movies like 'Independence Day and Topgun too many times. I think that is the influence.

I believe that there is no such thing as a super power. It sounds very epic, comic, and fictional. The U.S with its so called 'super power' abilities has never been superman to save the world.
China, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, UAE, Malaysia, and Singapore are only becoming developed and nothing more than this is going to happen.

i agree with Storm Force on one part. And that is that the U.S is trying to escalate war into Pakistan and we need to use our head instead of balls.

the issue at hand is not the capability of the PAF but many people, including on this forum remembering the PAF scrambling and interdicting Soviet & Afghan airforces aircraft which crossed the international border and airspace. many of the intruders were 'shot down'.

We had F-16s in the 80s to shoot down the soviet planes with.

Its 2011 and we still have F-16s.

US may also return the favor. With deep pocket they can sustain longer than pakistan. You are loosing leverage over US. The last one is the no intelligence sharing with NATO and any attack on NATO will have serious consequences on Pakistan.

Weren't there USAF fighter jets during OBL raid to protect helicopters? Were they stealth? We were unable to detect them...

till now pakistan is losing money men and economy . so its better to stay away and safe rather then involve in this mess and lose . we don't want war with them we just wanna stay away .
