Hello All
From almost Zero production to Defence Equipment Exporting country . From Bullet to Tank , From Fishing Ships to Frigates and Advance Submarines, From Anti-Aircraft Gun to GF17 , PAKISTAN surly came long way ahead , And we still have long way to go.

Current Geopolitical Situation and our Geographical location forces us towards Self-Reliance just look at Latest F16 deal only 8 birds and also look at USA Congress which want to stop or limits Pakistan Military Aid (sort of Sanctions).

We have Infrastructure in place, We only Need Will “ IF there is a will then There is a way”

NATONAL SLOGAN

Self-Reliance should be our national slogan and not a political catch-word. Pakistan is a threatened state. Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, BJP government’s agenda of military expansion and nuclear option, when seen in the light of the prevailing fiscal crisis, War on terrorism ,Extremism , requires that we tighten our belts, stand on our own feet and work hard. Threatened by Indian conventional nuclear and missile forces, and debarred from weapons and military equipment procurement and purchases from Western countries, especially from the United States, Pakistan has no alternate except to rely on its own capabilities to defend its sovereignty.

Infrastructure “Production Facilities”

At the time of independence, there was hardly any industrial base in Pakistan. The contribution of the industrial sector to the GNP in 1949-1950 was only 5.8%, out of which, 4.8% was attributed to small scale industries. With virtually no defence industry, the entire needs of the Armed Forces were met through purchases, mostly from U.K.

As an immediate and step towards meeting the requirements of the Armed Forces, Pakistan Ordinance Factories (POF) was established at WAH in 1951. As First Step towards Self Reliance.

At Present Time Pakistan have many different defence facilities which are not helping to fulfil Pakistan’s Armed Forces requirements, But they are also bringing foreign Reserve in Pakistan.

Some of them are,

1.Pakistan Ordnance Factories

The major factories POF are as following.

· Weapons Factory

Steps in Right Direction

In the area of defence Production, our country has again made a fair progress, We just have to put more money in to

R&D , upgrade existing systems , Designee and Produce more Advance Systems and Equipment, Get Latest Equipment

Under full TOT so we can make them at our own Facilities , that will bring the cost down in the long run and also no fear of any type of Sanctions ,

And In The end we have to and we most have to upgrade all of our Facilities .

· Al-Khalid Tank just bring out its latest model about 50T with latest material amd eqm

· Al-Hadir Tank chose whatever advance tank 54T Brining it with TOT produce in mass numbers

· IFVs And AFVs Buy with TOT or Produce locally Fact is we need them and need them Bad ,
Replace all existing old ones with new and latest , Upgrade Half our Inf Div Into Mechanized
Inf DIVs .

· APCs We have to say good by to M113 now Time has come ,

· MRAPs need them bad in COINS

· More Bigger And Better Frigates and Destroyers with Air Defence Cruise Ships.

· Submarines , Chinses and Westerns

· Costal Missiles Defence Systems Including Anti-Ship Missiles , SAMs , Anti Sub Missiles

And ABMs

Thank you all

Note: Mods please move the thread if its in wrong section or merge it if there any better Thread , Or please Start a new Thread about Self-Reliance. Thank you

Hello All

I agree with your entire post. I wrote it on here yesterday highlighting the SAME thing that due to Geo-Political change around China and Russia from the US and India, Pakistan has ONLY ONE sustainable option: To grow economically to a point where everyone has no other choice but to maintain good relationships with you due to Pakistani market being one of the best lucrative markets to give great profit back.

Second, once a certain economic depth is achieved, more money has to be pumped into the defense industry inside Pakistan to start major self reliance projects. JFT and a few other were a good starting point and have introduced Pakistan into advance avionics, air-frame and sub-systems manufacturing. Now its time to get into building more advance jets, SAAMS, and BVR weapons. These are critical projects so the work needs to start within the next couple of years.

Can u please shed some light (some details) on this part??
Air Weapons Complex (AWC) is a development and production centre for airborne weapons systems in Pakistan, more recently becoming involved in various commercial and other non-military projects also. The facility began operations in 1992 and has since grown considerably.Located near Wah , Pakistan, AWC now works under the umbrella organization of NESCOM.
The Air Weapon Complex,is involved in developing and manufacturing different kinds of air and ground weapons. AWC is one of the leading organisations in Pakistan in the field of Air Delivered Weapons/Systems. The Air Weapons Complex manufactures a variety of air delivered weapons, including extended range bombs, Target penetration bombs and Infra-Red Search and Track Systems. The AWC product range includes: HAFR-1: Anti Runway Weapon; IRST: Infra Red Search and Track System; 250 kg Pre-fragmented Bomb; 250 kg MK-82 Steel Bomb; 500 kg MK-83 Steel Bomb; 1000 kg MK-84 Steel Bomb; Air Burst Electronic Fuses (Impact and Detonating); Low/High Drag Tail Units; 25 lbs and 6 kg Practice Bombs; GPS: Global Positioning System; and the Mushbak Trainer Aircraft. Technical expertise also includes: Electronic system design and production, Mechanical components precision manufacturing, Prototyping and production of specialised mechanical assemblies, TQM practices, Mil-Spec Qualifications, CAD/CAM support.
The Air Weapons Complex embarked on a project for the indigenous development of UAV's in the middle of 1998. The Sky Tracker and Sky Navigator suite of software were developed for the ground-based tracking of remotely piloted vehicles (RPV's) / unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's). The software gets the UAV's GPS positional data from a radio data link. This data is used to show the position of the UAV as a 2D plot along with essential UAV data like, speed, altitude, heading etc. This plot can be overlaid onto area maps also. This information is used by the pilot for flying the UAV beyond visual range.

In September 2007 and May 2008, AWC conducted test-flights of the Hatf-8/Ra’ad air-launched cruise missile. The Ra’ad boasts a range of 350km and can be launched by the Pakistan Air Force from manned aircraft, such as the Dassault Mirage 5 or the Lockheed Martin F-16A. [5] Robert Hewson notes there are similar design features between the Ra’ad and the Chinese HY-2 “Seersucker’ anti-ship missile.

Thank you

Problem is political parties no one is sincere with counter every leader apart from 1 IK have agenda of looting how they want to invest that money on Pak on which they have eyes of looting

Solution

Bring 20 year King who has to live and die in Pak after leaving kingship he stays in Pak u see huge difference

.
No country is self reliant - those countries that try to be; get really far behind in terms of technology. Examples are Iran and North Korea.

i am fully agreed with the idea coz by definition Self Reliance can simply be understood as "Transition from a developing stage to a developed one" It also means to become independent in every walk of life for every need of life but with this set of politicians we can only dream about the salogen of self reliance ... because its like a roof top in the rain .. which has so many holes in it, u will try to fill one hole .. water will start coming out from the other and show will go on like that forever
