Nobody is expecting it to be 100% foolproof from day one.
For instance how is it going to handle snow covering everything and all it sees is almost pure white.

if your car has a lane change alert you would know 80% of the time it does't work. I pray I never have to test the emergency stop feature. When you say self driving it means 101% fool proof from day one. Few Accidents or deaths will make car companies bankrupts.
