I'd say go for paid one, opera browser has a free vpn and adblocker btw.

I am currently using opera browser VPN as PDF is block in Bangladesh not bad VPN .

VPN is used for privacy over the internet and how do you know who is the free VPN provider and that he will not spy upon the users?

Good quality free VPN is not too expensive, if you need privacy, use something worthwhile or don't bother. not using a free VPN would be safer than using a free VPN.
