Security forces regain control of Darra-e-Mastoul

Pakistan military spokesman, Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa on Monday said the security forces have regained full control of Darra-e-Mastoul used by militants to cross into Afghanistan and back.

Using his Twitter account, the military spokesman said the security forces have achieved major targets in yesterday's air raids in areas of Khyber Agency and Pak-Afghan border as part of the ongoing operation Khyber-1.

Earlier, there were unconfirmed reports of the death of the proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) chief Mullah Fazlullah in Tirah Valley area of Khyber Agency. However, the reports were later denied by both the TTP leadership and security sources.

This operation has two fold importance
1) Time
2) Strategy

I guess the timing couldn't be better as TTP might be thinking of an attack due to 23rd march but instead PA gave them an element of surprise! Second, strategy wise darra mastoul or mastoul pass which is captured will limit TTP's movement! Tirah valley was one of their strong holds and no wonder PA kept it for last due to it's terrain but now it seems TTP can't enter Pakistan that easily INSHALLAH!

Good but TTP leadership and MQM leadership are alive until they are eliminated problem will remain there

Would be interesting to know the approximate strength of Kharjis in battlefield at the moment.
