Safdar Dawar was awarded the prestigious FES award from Germany:

ISLAMABAD: Journalist Safdar Dawar on Wednesday received the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Human Rights Award 2012 on behalf of the Tribal Union of Journalists for consolidating media freedom. This is the first time a Pakistani organisation or person has been honored with the award.

Govt. and Army should control the flow of information and give a definite statement.

They should ask all the officials to not say anything other than state mentioned stand.

Otherwise confusion may create and considering fragile state of people's mindset because of constant terrorist attacks and other problems, backlash can happen by minor spark.
Right now, people of Pakistan and all the Pakistani members of PDF should diffuse the information to all the people that don't believe in anything unless its reported by govt. and Army sources.

Media should act responsible now. If you don't trust media, use social media.

Wrong information or rumor can be far more disastrous than information of whatever happened.

One can take example of Indian riots due to fake pictures that were circulated on online media.

Lives of innocent may be endangered due to confusion or rumor.

@Aeronaut @WebMaster @nuclearpak You can circulate it and use your networks.

What if the Pakistani govt. is LYING?

What if the Pakistani govt. is LYING?
Whatever it is, the people might be anxious and truth can be told after things cool down.

If a govt. has to lie to save innocent lives, they should do it.

do you think germany is inncoent and has no inlfuence through it NGOs , moles and spies in FATA and KP . How do you think influence is gained and the game is played ?.. you are just an indian turd and along with you we will not let the enemies of Pakistan succeed

. .
well, i think yes there was some collateral damage done by army
It happens buddy.

That's the problem with long term conflicts.

Innocent people get killed in war between security forces and terrorists.

Security personals gets frustrated, civilians gets frustrated and this is what terrorists' major success is.

This psychological impact is recipe of disaster.

That's when war crimes and more recruitment of normal civilians by terrorists occur and increases.

.
kill them all no problem if few civilians die are not these so called civilians responsible for most of the mess ?

This is a clear and precise response to the killings of soldiers who were just doing their job to protect their citizens and their nation. It sends a strong signal to the terrorists that your heinous crimes will not go unnoticed and the security forces will come after you. This common enemy has caused havoc on innocent lives, and befitting reply to their crimes is the need of the hour. We commend the Pakistani security forces for their sacrifices and their timely action against the ruthless enemy. Sometimes to achieve peace; we have to walk through the treacherous fields of death!

MIRAMSHAH: Pakistani security forces Thursday claim to have killed 10 more militants mostly Uzbek nationals, following last night’s clashes that left 23 terrorists dead in North Waziristan tribal agency bordering Afghanistan.

According to an ISPR statement, security forces launched a search operation upon ‘confirmed intelligence reports’ that the militants were planning to attack the troops with IED-laden vehicles, killing 10 militants in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

Most of the militants killed in the afternoon’s operation were reportedly Uzbek nationals, it added.

Eariler on Wednesday night, 23 militants were killed in exchange of fire with security forces in North Waziristan.

The clash followed a suicide attack on a military checkpoint which killed at least five soldiers and wounded 34 others. The attack had taken place while the security men were offering prayer in a mosque at the post.

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesperson, talking to Dawn.com, claimed that the militant group was behind the suicide attack and that it was carried out to avenge ex-TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud's death.

North Waziristan, one of the seven tribal districts along the Afghan border, is a hotbed for al Qaeda and Taliban militants.

The TTP has led a bloody campaign against the Pakistani state in recent years, carrying out hundreds of attacks on security forces and government targets, mainly in the country's northwest.

I hope Pakistani and US commanders are sharing intel on this front.

While ground intel probably is coming from Pakistani army, the air/sat based intel is the strength of US army.

I hope these two are being combined to rid the region from terrorist rats.

Hats off to the soldiers who are giving the ultimate so the region can regain peace and stability.

.
Good job by security forces! Kill each and every one of them.

These types of raids should be more frequent, terrorists should not be allowed time to even breath.

.
The security forces in these areas have repeatedly asked the locals to report any unusual activity straight to the law enforcers. If the local population is contempt, then who can blame the ills that they face?

The Islamic way is to take out the enemy and take those out as well who give refuge to the enemy of the state.
