Neither China is US nor India is Israel. More over if you see in the past, China has never vetoed bill favoring India even for his so called best friend Pakistan. China was absent during the SC resolution even during wars between India and Pakistan. ....

LOL, we vetoed the Syria resolution, even when the entire West + NATO was threatening us not to do it:

And Syria means nothing to us.

What's the point of having a veto if you never use it? Might as well stay in the General Assembly in that case.

.
China will always veto Japanese or Indian membership of the UNSC. So it will never happen.

Keep dreaming India.

Yes we will, China will always veto Indian and Japanese membership.

No its not. India is a borderline failed state.

Hey kiddo.... I know you are a troll but atleast keep up with your own country's official stance....

(Sources from UK and China before you start abusing Indian media.... :) )

@Chinese-Dragon Hey bro.... can you take off your hatefilled glasses and tell us why your government supports our membership? China only opposes Japanese ,membership.... your government has openly said if India comes out of G-4 then they have no issues about India joining.

@utp45 If you are really a Chinese atleast be consistent with your government and its embassy briefings.....

LOL, you guys never even read your own sources. :P

From your first source:

"We fully understand and support the Indian aspiration to play an even bigger role in international affairs and in the UN," Premier Wen said while addressing a question at a press conference before winding up his four-day visit to India.

That's as vague a statement as it gets. So we support India's "aspiration" to play a bigger role.

If you want to take that as a statement of unconditional support, ask yourself why India is not a UNSC permanent member despite every P5 member apparently supporting them? :azn:

And why you've been asking for it for over a decade yet the UNSC reforms have only seen delay after delay?

. .
Even with a permanent seat, No one will have a veto power. Also the P5 will not really add anyone. Why would they? They can survive just fine without additional members.
Then these G 4 will publicly avoid P5 suggestions in future.P5 was successful in earlier decades because those nations were far ahead than others. Now that is not the case not any more.Germany can veto any decision of EU .
Fast emergence of India will change those geopolitical equations.

We already have two Asian members. Why do we need another one? And Japan? Seriously?

Though it'd be agreeable that Brazil deserves a spot there. It's big and resource rich. If anyone deserves a representation in the UNSC, it is South America. They have many problems with drug trade. I'm sure it'll help in addressing that problem.

.
Not gonna happen.. Not because India is irrelevant, or it has border disputes or it's not a rising economic power house.. But because the P5 will not give way for a foreseeable future.. The UNSC is a body of circumstances, They were the victorious sovereign nations world powers post WW II, Unfortunately India was a colony and Japan and Germany were on the loosing side

From time to time leaders of the US, France and China may say sweet nothings to Indian media to pacify things.. And some Indians will get exited.. This is nothing new and have been happening for some years now.. But the status quo will remain.. Atleast for this life time

P.S: This must be the hundredth thread on the subject.. And people suggesting Muslim representation is even more hilarious..

These statements is not meant for Indian public or media .As usual we dont even care about it.But guys in the South Block is watching all development.
World is changing.Already some developed nation in UNSC is already overcome by a still developing India in certain aspects .And remember we didnt even fully throttled yet.
If they dont include these changing realities UN would become more irrelevant to the World.
Those in power will show some hesistation to digest it.But might will be always right.

There is a difference between "We" and "I"......You have backing of Russia for Syria which was majorly Russia's issue. Let see when you will be standing alone and Russia will also push you to support India..

Because Asia represents maximum number of human population. But I agree, one of the seats from Europe should be given to South America.

Shut up idiot mallu, mera Bihari Lund loh kuttay
OK This is totally unacceptable. Post reported.

Stop arguing logically, when UN was formed USA and USSR are the real victors.

The remaining three were saved by the above two. The logic of winning 5 fails there. India wants UNSC and it is upto the the world to recognize India. But India will try by all means.

Do you really think people at south block that stupid? India knows what to read and how to read between the lines. Before the end of 2020, India will be a permanent member...

Good luck then. You've already been asking for more than a decade, another 5 years can't hurt.

Think about it from our perspective though, we have an active territorial dispute with India, why wouldn't we use the permanent seat as a bargaining chip?

and why do you think the dispute cannot be solved in next 5 years even if you use the bargaining chip?
