Their country their rules. ALso, according to the US Consitution, US is a secular country. The Govt on the other hand has powers to declare holidays - religious or otherwise. The govt had declared 25th Dec to be a religious holiday. Their prerogative.
If another govt comes and declares holidays for other religions, so be it. That is a political question, not a consitutional one.

But every temple built goes though at least a decade of legal hurdles placed in front of it from zoning laws to height restrictions to complaints from civilians about fear of increased traffic, something they would not not do for a mall or church coming up in that place.
