Depends! ....what kind of bicycle?How long would it take me to get there on my bicycle?
1. I think they took into account that the star is a red giant. The planet is closer to the star than earth to the sun...hence we can expect similar temperatures@That Guy
@Sky lord
Ok lets look at all the possibilities shall we,
(A) Existence of life on a planet orbiting alpha century which is a small red giant towards the end of itz life.
(B)Existence of life on proxima century system(it is infact a binary-star system revolving around their common CG). I would like to highlight that the two stars sometimes get so closer to each other as jupiter is to sun-thats dangerously close in terms of stars!
Now the problem here is ,this system isnt very stable! Some planets have already been thrown out of orbit long time ago and those that remain have to face constant bombardment of radiations from two stars that get dangerously close to each other. Hence existence of life in such a system is very rare.
Wow another planet to inhabit and destroy
