If only the same developmental/operational secrecy and priority that was given to the Arihant class project was also given to our other big-ticket defense products.

In any case this is a project sanctioned by the Navy, a much more efficient organisation when it comes to indigenous R&D and quick inductions times.

once it enters service it will sit at the bottom of the Arabian sea waiting for orders to strike. i wonder how Kayani will think about using Nukes first knowing that immediately he and his country men will be living in a nuclear wasteland. we should put 2-3 of these babies with K-3 and K-4 missiles in the Arabian sea for all around deterrence. nuclear blackmail isn't so great when you know you will be screwed if you try anything of the sort.

Yes it will. This high cost mainly includes R&D and infrastructure. When we have total of five SSBNs, together it will be much lower.
