Sea Spark 2015 & It's important aspect

War gamings by defense analysts are also interesting things because political analysts also create pre election match!
In my opinion, A squadron of JF-17 Block III with AESA & some IRST jets with support of AWACS aircrafts can easily counter Indian Naval Arm. Primary role is to protect our ships from Indian birds and special role is to destroy Indian vessels. Anti-ship is a well debated issue. DG Kamra also said that JF-17 currently can carry only one C-802 so, PAF needs to increase payload & operational range of few Thunder birds with AESA & IRST sub-systems. This single engine aircraft can also fulfill Navy's requirements. One thing should be remembered that Indian Naval air arm is very much costly with 2 carriers and squadrons of MIGs and harriers. They need enough respect.

Hi,

I think it was one CM400AKG on centerline hard point----.

The article which i certainly lost but referring to was about C-802 but paper calculations prove the fact that a Thunder can carry two C-802 missiles.

it is external fuel tank

Sorry may be in case of JF17 your statement is true but no one denies capabilities of F16s. But problem is we have limited F16s so we can't spare few squadrons for naval role.

The fact is we require such Air superiority jets which are in true spirit are of multirole. i,e not jets like JH 7B but in class of J11b or further developed versions if SU35 is not considered. PAF will get J31 in future but PN will have limited options so 4.5th class fighter bombers will be more feasible along with few squadrons of JF17s.
Instead of spending billions of dollars for 4.5th generation jets, PAC can turn JF-17 Thunder into a 4.5th generation jet with modern sub-systems, extended range & greater payload.

Hi,

If you read the interview---the issue was the balance of load after launching one CM400---so according to the air cmdr---it will be 1 CM 400 in the centerline hard point----.

Plz find and read the interview again. On anti ship mission----you will be flying with a full load of fuel and going 300-400 miles over the ocean----.

In this above picture---the aircraft can barely fly for 20--25 minutes as there are no fuel tanks.

It will still remain a light fighter with limited range, as block III may have better speed, powerful engine, further enhance stealth features however will still have some limitations which can only be addressed by 4.5th gen Air superiority fighters like.

1 Max speed of Jf17 block III may be up to Mach 2 due to design, materials limitations along with single engine.Similarly may improve service ceiling up to little bit however for deep penetration missions a twin engine fighter jet with speed of Mac 2.2 to 2.3 (sustained speed) high service ceiling at least above 60,000 ft will be more survivable/beneficial.
2. Limited radar range even in case of AESA in Jf17 block -III will be issue.
3.Payload of single engine jet can't be compared with twin engine jet.
4.Pakistan if acquires twinen gine jet they may be up to 1 to squadrons not in hundreds, similarly block III version of JF17 may also not to be much cheaper due to use of modern techs.
4.Last and final point long range also matters in deep penetration.
JF17 is for defensive role and expected twin engine Jets shall be purely for offensive role currently more or less played by Mirage even after their service life.

The opportunity cost of getting twin engine jets is much lesser. May PN pros if available shall be in much better position to further explain tech aspects.

your points are good! Pakistan Airforce and Pakistan Navy defense planners will better decide inshaAllah! thanks for your detailed analysis!

As JF 17 project director said, JFT can carry two c802A missiles but they have plan to carry one and on two points they will carry fuel tanks for longer range. cm400 is not yet procured.

.
It's an important point that PAF has published data regarding CM400AKG but as above membr said it is still not procured , why not? It is a must for building for our defensive capabilities against any IN aggression in near future.

CM-400AKG can also be seen integrated in PAF Thunders. Don't know whether its inducted or not.

Pakistan Navy is too small, We need one Dozen Warships.......

With 2 squadrons of Su 35 and SAM's......otherwise we are kidding, CPEC will remain Unsafe.

Balance of the load can be catered by using following Configuration :

Hard Point : --1--------2----------3-----------Center----------5----------6--------7
Load------- : WVR---BVR---Fuel Tank---Anti Ship---Anti Ship---BVR---WVR

So when you launch the Anti Ship you will Drop the Tank too and will be left with 2WVR,BVR and a Anti Ship Missile, Which could be used right away or on next target.

Regards

For anti Ship role JFT offer two configuration.

1 : 2 CM400 and one Drop tank. More firepower, less range.

2: 2 Drop tanks and one CM400. Less firepower, more range.

Since Maritime role require longer range so second package is preferred.......
